All Apex positions are eligible for annual bonus opportunities, reinforcing our commitment to recognizing and rewarding meaningful contributions that drive our collective growth.\nThis role is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company's sign-on bonus program.\nPosition Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer / Project Administrator to lead Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services on FDOT, LAP, county, and municipal transportation projects throughout Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management, contract administration, construction oversight, quality assurance, client coordination, and mentoring CEI staff while serving as the primary point of contact between the owner, contractor, and project team. This position is ideal for an experienced transportation professional who can successfully lead CEI teams, manage client relationships, and deliver FDOT and local agency construction projects from notice-to-proceed through final acceptance.\nEssential Responsibilities\nServe as the Senior CEI Project Engineer and Project Administrator on transportation construction projects.\nManage project delivery, schedules, budgets, documentation, and staff assignments.\nCoordinate with FDOT, local agencies, municipalities, contractors, utility companies, and project stakeholders.\nEnsure compliance with contract plans, specifications, permits, standards, and agency requirements.\nReview and process pay applications, change orders, supplemental agreements, claims, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.\nLead progress meetings and prepare project correspondence and reports.\nOversee quality assurance and quality control activities performed by CEI staff.\nVerify quantities, materials testing, contract compliance, and contractor performance.\nMonitor project schedules and identify potential risks, delays, and constructability issues.\nProvide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to inspectors and support staff.\nCoordinate project closeout activities, final acceptance, and as-built documentation.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.\n Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required or ability to obtain Florida P.E. licensure within six (6) months of hire.\nMinimum 5+ years of FDOT and/or Florida CEI experience.\nExperience serving in a CEI leadership role, such as Project Administrator, Assistant Project Administrator, Project Engineer, or Senior Inspector.\nThorough understanding of FDOT specifications, standards, procedures, and construction documentation requirements.\nStrong leadership, communication, organization, and client management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and staff simultaneously.\nValid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Florida.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFDOT Project Administrator experience.\nFDOT CTQP certifications.\nExperience with SiteManager, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.\nExperience managing roadway, bridge, drainage, utility, and transportation improvement projects.\nLocal agency and municipal CEI experience is highly preferred, particularly with Lee County, Collier County, Hendry County, Hardee County, City of Fort Myers, City of Cape Coral, and other Florida local governments.\nExperience administering FDOT LAP-funded construction projects.\nEstablished working relationships with FDOT District personnel and local agency clients.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salary and benefits package.\nOpportunities for leadership and career advancement.\nDiverse portfolio of local agency transportation projects.\nCollaborative and growth-oriented work environment.\nOpportunity to lead high-profile infrastructure projects throughout Florida.\nWhy you'll love working for us:\nCompany-subsidized medical and dental.\nCompany-paid life, short, and long-term disability.\n401k match, tuition assistance, and more.\nCross-training and the ability to work on a variety of projects.\nPerformance-based bonuses or other incentives.\nWorking with the best and brightest in the industry.\n2,000+ employee national firm with 70+ locations across the US.\n\nApex Job Title: Engineer 3 - Sr Project Engineer\n\nReq ID: 12184\nWe believe in equality for all and celebrate the diversity and differences of our employees, customers, and communities.
