You’ll be helping grow a longstanding business while receiving the recognition and support your commitment to professional growth deserves.\nYour Responsibilities as a Hydraulic Engineer:\nSupport the planning, design, and delivery of hydraulic and water resources projects for public and private-sector clients.\nPerform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for bridge openings, culverts, floodplains, drainage systems, and stormwater management projects.\nAssist with 1D and 2D hydraulic and surface water modeling using tools such as HEC-RAS and SMS SRH-2D.\nSupport bridge hydraulic and scour evaluations, culvert design, floodplain analysis, drainage design, and stormwater management projects.\nPrepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and other project documentation.\nAssist with FEMA floodplain modeling, management, and permitting, including LOMR/CLOMR applications as applicable.\nSupport drainage, gravity, irrigation, and stormwater system modeling and design.\nCoordinate with civil, transportation, environmental, survey, structural, and other multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.\nAssist with permitting and coordination with clients, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.\nParticipate in field investigations, site visits, and construction support as needed.\nWork closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop technical skills and take on increasing levels of project responsibility.\nProvide technical support to project teams and contribute to a collaborative environment focused on quality project delivery and professional growth.\nWhat we're looking for:\nB.S. in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field\nProfessional Engineer (PE) registration preferred\n2+ years of Civil Engineering experience with exposure to hydraulic modeling, hydrology, drainage, or water resources\nStrong understanding of basic hydraulics and hydrology principles, including runoff calculations, open-channel hydraulics, culvert design, drainage systems, and stormwater management\nExperience with or interest in developing proficiency with 1D/2D HEC-RAS and/or SMS SRH-2D\nFamiliarity with HEC-18, HEC-20, and HEC-23 is preferred\nExperience with HY-8 is a plus\nFamiliarity with FEMA floodplain management, modeling, and permitting is preferred\nExperience with Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) is desirable\nStrong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nAbility to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team\nWhy you'll love working for us:\nCompany-subsidized medical and dental.\nCompany-paid life, short, and long-term disability.\n401k match, tuition assistance, and more.\nCross-training and the ability to work on a variety of projects.\nPerformance-based bonuses or other incentives.\nWorking with the best and brightest in the industry.\n2,000+ employee national firm with 70+ locations across the US.\n\nApex Job Title: Engineer 2 - Project Engineer\n\nWe believe in equality for all and celebrate the diversity and differences of our employees, customers, and communities.
