As a California Registered Professional Land Surveyor at CWE, an Apex Company, you will take leadership on delivering our survey projects by taking a hands-on approach, working with teammates and clients, and optimizing internal processes and standards. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong technical, management, and interpersonal skills who thrives on delivering precise, high-quality results. The PLS will oversee fieldwork, documentation, deliverables, client relations, and ensure that projects adhere to the firm's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to: \nResponsible for overseeing work production and quality control of Roseville office surveyors and survey technicians as they develop and create solutions to technical problems.\nProvide day-to-day technical guidance to survey staff.\nUnder limited supervision, manage a variety of surveying service functions that could include drafting, survey support, field survey, document control or other surveying support activities.\nEnsure the timely, thorough, and accurate completion of all survey services projects.\nEnsure survey deliverables and documentation packages are complete.\nMaintain project number assignments and customer documentation.\nResponsible for project budgeting, project scheduling; and refining procedures for the survey department.\nPrincipal activities will include in-office survey and mapping calculations and plans, and preparation of construction staking cut sheets. As needed, and not limited to, provide limited party chief services on various field surveying duties, including boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA Surveys, and construction staking. \nPerform technical survey work and mapping, utilizing industry software including, but not limited to, Autodesk Civil 3D, and perform limited survey field work, ensuring that high quality products are produced within the schedule that our clients require. Use the firm's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checklists for survey deliverables.\nDevelop technical approaches, scopes and narratives for proposals and pursuits, as a prime and a subconsultant, and develop cost/fee estimates for the work. Mine, harvest, and capitalize on existing client contracts, and retain new client contracts to perform work under.\nKeep abreast of the state-of-the-art survey techniques.\nMaintain good relationships with team members, sub-consultants, vendors, and clients.\nEffectively communicate project expectations to team members and sub-consultants in a timely and clear fashion.\nBe the liaison with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.\nTravel to conduct field visits, survey activities, and consult with clients and agencies.\nRequired Competencies and Qualifications:\nCalifornia Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license. \n8+ years of experience in Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field(s).\nExpertise in survey equipment use, configuration, troubleshooting, procurement, repair (e.g. theodolite, total station, drones, GPS/GNSS, etc..), in the field and in the office.\nExpertise in Survey software, including but not limited to GIS/GPS, aerial and non-aerial cartography, data collectors, etc.\nProficient knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software, PDF software, such as Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, etc., and in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, etc.).\nAbilities to grasp and become proficient in new software and technologies.\nAbility to pay attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.\nDemonstrates a strong work ethic.\nGood interpersonal abilities for working in a team environment.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.\nProactive approach/self-starter/takes initiative\nAbility to kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.\nValid California driver’s license and insurable driving record\nDesired Competencies and Qualifications:\nBackground in surveying for complex properties and right-of-way issues.\nKnowledge of land geographic information systems (GIS) and boundary law.\nFamiliarity with surveying for subdivisions, planned unit developments (PUD), and parcel maps.\nHigh attention to detail, flexibility, and adaptability to work in varying conditions.\nWhy you'll love working for us:\nCompany-subsidized medical and dental\nCompany-paid life, short- and long-term disability\n401k match, tuition assistance, and more\nCross-training and the ability to work on a variety of projects\nPerformance-based bonuses or other incentives\nWorking with the best and brightest in the industry\nApex Job Title: CWE Licensed Surveyor\nReq ID: 11751\nAnnual Expected Pay Range\n$100,000—$150,000 USD\nWe believe in equality for all and celebrate the diversity and differences of our employees, customers, and communities.
