This leadership role involves strategic planning, team management, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of GPU clusters, data systems, and cloud infrastructure. The Manager bridges technical execution with business objectives and stakeholder communication.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead and manage a team of AI Infrastructure engineers and associates\nDefine infrastructure strategy aligned with organizational AI objectives\nOversee the design and operation of large-scale GPU training clusters\nEstablish capacity planning models and resource allocation frameworks\nDrive FinOps initiatives to optimize cloud costs and compute utilization\nEnsure high availability and reliability of AI infrastructure (99.9%+ uptime)\nCollaborate with ML leadership to align infrastructure with research priorities\nManage vendor relationships for cloud and hardware providers\nDevelop and enforce infrastructure security and compliance standards\nConduct performance reviews and support career development for team members\nPresent infrastructure status and roadmaps to senior leadership\nDrive continuous improvement in operational processes and automation\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred\n6-10 years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering\n3+ years of people management experience\nDeep expertise in cloud architecture and Kubernetes at scale\nStrong understanding of AI/ML infrastructure requirements\nExperience managing significant infrastructure budgets\nTrack record of building and leading high-performing teams\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills\nStrategic thinking with ability to execute tactically\nExperience with vendor management and contract negotiations\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience at AI-focused companies or research labs\nBackground in HPC or scientific computing\nMBA or management training\nExperience with IPO/M&A infrastructure due diligence\nPublic speaking and thought leadership experience\nWORK DETAILS\nEmployment Type: Full-time, Permanent\nLocation: Pune, India\nDepartment: CAIDO Group - Innovation and AI\nReports To: Head of AI / CAIDO Leadership\nWork Type: Office-based with potential hybrid options\nDisclaimer: Unsolicited CVs sent to Apex (Talent Acquisition Team or Hiring Managers) by recruitment agencies will not be accepted for this position.
