And we offer you the freedom to be a positive disrupter and turn big ideas into bold, industry-changing realities.\nFor our business, for clients, and for you\nJob Description: AML Analyst.\nCompanies: Apex Unitas Limited & Apex Ventures Fund Services Limited\nLocation: London\nDepartment: Financial Crime Compliance (“UKFCC”)\nReporting To: UK MLRO\nEmployment Type: Full time\nRole Purpose\nThe AML Analyst will support the UK DMLRO and UKFCC by conducting customer due diligence (CDD), ongoing monitoring, and supporting client enquiries related to AML requirements. The role is to enhance compliance with internal policies, UK regulatory expectations, and global financial crime standards.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. AML / CDD Duties\nConduct Customer Due Diligence (“CDD”) and Enhanced Due Diligence (“EDD”) and AML risk assessments for new and existing clients.\nVerify client information, beneficial ownership, and control structures in line with UK Money Laundering regulations 2017; Proceeds of Crime Act, JMLSG guidance and the Terrorism Act 2000.\nConduct screening for sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media, escalating results where appropriate.\nMaintain accurate, up-to-date client files in line with record-keeping requirements.\nReview and resolve discrepancies identified during onboarding or periodic refresh.\nIdentify and escalate suspicious activity, including preparation of referrals to the MLRO where appropriate.\nEnsure client mailbox is monitored daily to ensure new investors to be onboarded and any client enquiries are completed within set time periods, in a professional manner.\nConduct customer risk assessments and ensure risk ratings are supported and documented in accordance with Apex policy.\n2. Client Enquiry & Support Responsibilities\nRespond promptly and professionally to client AML enquiries, providing guidance on CDD requirements, document standards, and onboarding expectations.\nClarify documentation requests and regulatory obligations to ensure smooth and efficient onboarding.\nLiaise with internal teams (Onboarding, Client Services, Fund Administration) to resolve issues affecting client experience.\nMaintain high levels of service, ensuring clients understand timelines, outstanding items, and next steps.\nSupport clients when regulatory changes impact AML requirements (e.g., updated BO rules, sanctioning rounds).\n3. Internal Collaboration\nWork with Financial crime team to ensure consistent application of policies.\nEscalate recurring issues and recommend cess improvements to the DMLRO on.\nSupport team workload distribution, prioritising risk and deadlines.\nParticipate in internal AML projects, system migrations, or testing of new compliance tools.\nEssential Skills & Experience\nKnowledge of UK Money Laundering Regulations 2017, JMLSG Guidance, Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and associated financial crime regulatory requirements.\nundefinedExperience in customer contact roles, ability to communicate with clients on a professional level Ability to analyse ownership structures and identify ultimate beneficial owners.Strong communication skills, especially when dealing with clients and explaining regulatory requirements. Competent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy working environment. Strong risk awareness with the ability to identify red flags and escalate appropriately.\nDesirable Skills & Qualifications\nKnowledge of fund administration, private equity, or financial services structures. Experience working with nominee arrangements or multi-jurisdictional clients. Understanding of global AML frameworks (FATF, EU AML directives, Cayman BO rules, etc.). Professional certifications Experience using platforms such as World-Check, RDC, LexisNexis, or Alessa. Exposure to process improvement or system enhancement initiatives. Proficiency in using AML/KYC platforms, screening tools, and workflow systems\nPersonal Attributes\nProfessional and client-focused approach. Strong ethical mindset and commitment to confidentiality. Proactive, curious, and willing to challenge where necessary.
