Manager - Client Accounting & Tax
Description
The Manager - Client Accounting & Tax is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of client accounting and tax compliance engagements. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the role ensures that statutory accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, corporate tax and related filings are prepared, reviewed and delivered to the required professional and regulatory standards.
The role must be held by an Expert-Comptable and is expected to maintain high professional standards in line with the requirements of the Ordre des Experts-Comptables. The Manager acts as a key technical and operational support to the Head of Operations and escalates matters requiring professional judgement to the Responsible Expert-Comptable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of accounting and tax compliance engagements for assigned clients, ensuring work is planned, reviewed and completed to agreed deadlines.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements, corporate tax returns and related filings in accordance with regulatory deadlines and applicable professional standards.
- Maintain quality control over bookkeeping, VAT, tax filings and accounting records, confirming completeness, accuracy and compliance before submission or escalation.
- Review work prepared by junior team members and supporting locations, ensuring appropriate quality control, documentation and follow-up of outstanding matters.
- Escalate matters involving professional judgement, technical complexity, independence, ethics or client risk to the Responsible Expert-Comptable.
- Coach, supervise and develop the junior accounting and tax team based locally or in supporting locations, promoting technical development, accountability and consistent delivery standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualified Expert-Comptable in France, with strong knowledge of OEC professional standards and obligations.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in similar position
- Strong technical expertise in French accounting, statutory financial statements, corporate tax compliance, VAT and bookkeeping requirements.
- Experience managing a portfolio of corporate services clients and delivering accounting and tax compliance engagements to strict deadlines.
- Ability to review technical work, identify risk areas, resolve delivery issues and escalate complex matters appropriately.
- Experience supervising, coaching or developing junior accounting and tax professionals, including teams based in supporting locations.
- Fluent in French and English.
