The Opportunity

The successful candidate will report to the Designated Person for Fund Risk and support the Risk function in providing independent oversight and challenge across investment compliance, regulatory reporting and valuation risk.

The role involves regular engagement with senior management, internal teams and external stakeholders to identify, investigate and resolve risk issues. It presents a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the governance and performance of a dynamic Fund Management Company.

The position - key responsibilities:

1. Investment Compliance Oversight

• Perform ongoing investment compliance monitoring across funds under management (UCITS and AIFs). Review investment compliance exception/breach reports, investigate potential breaches and assess their nature, materiality and impact.
• Liaise with external stakeholders (Investment Managers, Administrators and Depositaries) regarding potential and confirmed breaches, assess/challenge proposed remediation and monitor corrective actions through to completion.
• Support periodic reviews of investment restrictions and compliance monitoring arrangements.
• Escalate material or recurring breaches in accordance with the risk and governance framework.
• Assist in the implementation of the internal Fund Risk Management framework as part of new product initiatives and fund launches.
• Assist the Fund Risk team in the preparation of both regular and exception-based risk reporting for both fund boards and the management company that enables each to fulfil their governance obligations related to the risk management of investment funds under their management.

2. Regulatory Reporting

• Support the preparation, review and oversight of regulatory reporting obligations applicable to the funds under management and the management company.
• Review regulatory returns and supporting information for completeness, consistency and reasonableness.
• Investigate discrepancies and ensure appropriate remediation
• Monitor the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of regulatory submissions.

Experience required:

• 1+ years’ relevant experience in the UCITS and/or EU Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) frameworks.
• Relevant finance or quantitative degree, with certification or progress towards qualifications such as FRM, PRM, CFA, or CAIA.
• An understanding of the AIFM and UCITS regulatory frameworks, particularly in relation to risk management requirements.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and convey insights effectively to stakeholders, including portfolio managers, fund directors, and senior management.
• Energetic and solutions-driven team player, willing to support and collaborate with colleagues.
• Self-starter with a detail-oriented and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Adaptable, creative, and capable of addressing diverse client needs effectively
