This role ensures that architecture, design, and delivery standards drive scalability, performance, and quality. The Lead Software Engineer mentors developers, owns critical technical decisions, and partners with product and delivery leaders to align execution with business outcomes.\nResponsibilities:\nTechnical Leadership Provide hands-on expertise across backend and frontend technologies, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.\nArchitecture & Design Define and enforce software architecture principles, ensuring systems are modular, secure, and maintainable.\nTeam Mentorship Lead and mentor development teams, fostering growth, collaboration, and engineering excellence.\nTechnical Ownership Own key technical decisions, set coding standards, and drive best practices across the engineering organization.\nQuality & Delivery Ensure high-quality code through reviews, testing practices, and CI/CD pipelines; champion automation and reliability.\nCross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Delivery Managers, Product Owners, and QA/DevOps teams to align technical execution with roadmap priorities.\nInnovation & Improvement Stay current with emerging technologies, propose improvements, and drive adoption of modern engineering practices.\nQualifications and Experience\nSolid hands-on experience with: Node.js (modern versions, including v22+ and v24)\n PostgreSQL (v15 or equivalent)\n Vue.js (Vue 3)\n\nProven experience leading and mentoring software development teams.\nStrong grasp of software architecture principles (modularity, scalability, clean design).\nAbility to own technical decisions and drive quality standards across projects.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.\nExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business stakeholders.\nNice to Have\nExperience with caching technologies (e.g., Redis, Memcached).\nExperience with search and indexing solutions (e.g., Algolia, Elasticsearch, Solr).\nFamiliarity with real-time communication frameworks (e.g., TalkJS, WebSockets).\nExposure to testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Jest).\nExperience with containerization and infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).\nKnowledge of cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, or GCP).\nBackground in performance optimization and scaling distributed systems.\nAdditional information:\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and ensure that no applicant is subject to less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, gender identity, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, responsibilities for dependants, physical or mental disability.
