# Technical Purchaser

Key Responsibilities Receive and review purchase requisitions from vessels, technical departments, engineers or project teams. Source marine equipment, machinery spare parts, valves, pumps, piping materials, electrical components, deck equipment and shipyard consumables. Identify suitable local and overseas suppliers and manufacturers. Issue RFQs and obtain competitive quotations. Evaluate quotations based on technical compliance, price, quality, availability and delivery lead time. Verify specifications, maker/brand, model, part number, drawings, certificates and material requirements before ordering. Liaise with Technical Superintendents, Marine Engineers and vessel personnel to clarify technical requirements. Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial conditions with suppliers. Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs). Expedite orders and coordinate delivery to vessels, shipyards, warehouses or appointed agents. Coordinate urgent vessel requirements and breakdown-related purchases.
