It’s a highly impactful position, ideal for a seasoned Solutions Architect who thrives in fast-paced, agile environments and enjoys helping others.\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities\nServe as the team lead across architecture, development, and DevOps functions.\nWork hands-on with AI coding assistants and agents in your daily development, from design and implementation through testing, code review, and troubleshooting, and lead by example in how to use them well.\nOwn the architecture, design, and scalability of enterprise-grade applications.\nHelp drive best practices in coding, test automation, API design, and performance tuning.\nTranslate business requirements into secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.\nOversee the integration of RESTful and SOAP-based services with modern authentication (SAML, PingFederate).\nGuide API documentation and testing workflows using Postman and Swagger.\nCarry out integration and unit testing of the functionality you develop, and troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production.\nCoordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system interoperability and delivery.\nShare practical AI workflows, prompts, and patterns with the team so effective AI-assisted development becomes part of how everyone works.\nWhat success looks like\nArchitecture: enterprise-grade applications are well designed, secure, and reliable\nEngineering standards: best practices in coding, testing, API design, and performance tuning are in place and followed across the team\nIntegration: RESTful and SOAP-based services integrate cleanly with modern authentication (SAML, PingFederate)\nAPI quality: APIs are consistently documented and tested through Postman and Swagger workflows\nAI-assisted development: you use AI coding tools and agents effectively in your own work, and the team adopts the workflows you demonstrate\nStability: issues across development, staging, and production environments are identified and resolved\nDelivery: systems interoperate seamlessly and the team delivers in step with cross-functional partners\nRequired Skills, Education, and Experience\nA Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field\nAt least 7 years of experience in enterprise application development and architecture\nStrong, hands-on use of AI in software development: coding assistants and agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor), agentic workflows, and AI-assisted testing, debugging, and code review. You should be able to demonstrate this live, with real examples of how it has made you more effective\nGood judgment on AI output: knowing when to trust it, how to verify it, and how to keep code quality, security, and maintainability high\nExpert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring / Spring Boot framework\nStrong experience with Angular, React.js, JavaScript, and Node.js\nExperience with REST, JSON, GraphQL, and SOAP integrations\nProficiency in AWS, including EC2, S3, SNS, Secrets Manager, and Cognito\nDeep understanding of databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DynamoDB\nFamiliarity with DevOps tools and automation frameworks, including Ansible\nExperience with system authentication protocols such as SAML and PingFederate\nSkilled in API design and testing (Postman, Swagger) and testing automation, including automated unit and integration tests\nExperience with Git, CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and containerization (Docker is a plus)\nExcellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in security-focused design and identity management.\nA background in enterprise reporting and legacy-to-modern tech migrations.\nKnowledge of monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog.\nFamiliarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.\nExperience building custom AI tooling for your team (agents, integrations, or reusable prompts).\nUsing AI to accelerate legacy-to-modern migrations.\nAWS certifications (Developer, Solutions Architect).\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work\nThis is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.\nCompensation\nThe good faith compensation range for this role is $130,000-$140,000 CAD annually. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
