This is an engineering role-you'll write production-grade code and maintain automated tests independently; improve existing suites and coverage in your own area, adapt and improve test plans for medium/large features, execute end-to-end with little guidance and give clear feedback to engineers on quality.\nYou're an engineer who's passionate about quality and believes the best way to achieve it is by empowering every engineer to test better. You'll build the tools, frameworks, and practices that make quality a natural part of how we work.\nAt E2, you lead quality initiatives for your squad and mentor engineers on testing practices.\nWhat You'll Do\nMentor engineers on quality - Pair with engineers to improve their testing practices; TDD, and test design\n\nOwn test strategy - Define testing approaches (unit, integration, contract, e2e) for your squad\n\nWrite code - Build production-grade automation, testing tools & test scripts\n\nDrive quality metrics - Instrument and track quality signals (coverage, flakiness, test times, defect rates); use data to prioritize improvements\n\nLeverage AI for quality - Use AI to generate tests, identify coverage gaps, and accelerate quality feedback loops\n\nParticipate in on-call & incident response - Troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, and observability tools; investigate services and infrastructure, identify or narrow down root causes, perform appropriate operational actions, and escalate incidents to the right owning team with clear technical context.\n\nShift quality left - Help engineers catch issues earlier through better design, testability coaching, and fast feedback\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nTechnical\n3 - 5+ years as a software engineer or QA\n\nStrong programming skills- able to write production-grade, maintainable code, not just test scripts. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Dart) and the ability to quickly adapt to others for QA tooling.\n\nHands-on test automation experience - experience designing, building, and maintaining automated tests across Web, API, and/or Mobile using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, Rest Assured, Playwright, Maestro | Patrol, or equivalent technologies.\n\nDeep expertise in test architecture: unit, integration, contract, and e2e testing strategies\n\nProficient with CI/CD, integration and test automation with Jenkins pipelines and GitHub Actions for solution builds and deployments.\n\nFamiliar with our stack or similar: Java/Spring, Angular/Flutter, AWS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Datadog, Postman, Bruno and JMeter\n\nFamiliar with on-call process like production trouble shooting (reading/matching logs & metrics, using observability tools like Datadog & taking with engineers appropriate mitigation actions and escalating incidents right away (accordingly to the severity)\n\nAI Fluency\nUses AI tools to generate test cases, identify edge cases, and accelerate test development\n\nApplies AI to detect flaky tests, analyze coverage gaps, and prioritize testing efforts\n\nBuilds or champions AI-powered quality tools for the team\n\nStays current on AI-assisted testing capabilities and best practices\n\nQuality Philosophy\nBelieves engineers should own quality-your job is to enable them, not replace them\n\nThinks about testability during design, not just after implementation\n\nPragmatic about test coverage-you optimize for confidence\n\nUnderstands testing and when to break the rules\n\nLeadership & Communication\nExperience in coaching engineers and changing team practices\n\nWrites clear documentation and runbooks\n\nFluent in Spanish; working knowledge of English for cross-team collaboration\n\nMindset\nProduct first, quality specialist second\n\nPassionate about developer experience-you build tools people love to use\n\nStrong ownership; you drive quality improvements end-to-end\n\nCurious about fintech-specific quality challenges (financial accuracy, compliance, fraud)\n\nNice to Have\nExperience in fintech, payments, or high-reliability systems\n\nBackground in mobile testing (Flutter, iOS, Android), web testing(HTML/Angular/JS, backend testing (Java,Spring boot, Golang)& testing frameworks like Maestro or Patrol.\n\nPerformance and load testing experience\n\nContract testing (Pact) or API testing expertise\n\nContributions to open-source testing tools or frameworks\n\nExperience managing a mobile device farm (Sauce Labs)\n\nOur Stack\nLanguages: Java, Python, Javascript\nFrameworks: JUnit, TestNG, Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Maestro/Patrol\nAPI Tooling: Postman/Bruno, Jmeter/LoadRunner, Rest Assured\nCI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodeMagic\nInfrastructure: AWS, Pulumi\nObservability: DataDog\nWhy Aplazo\nOur mission is to empower financial access and opportunity across Latin America through fair, simple, and transparent solutions.
