Our client is an established organization in Vancouver looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to their team. The ideal candidate is a designated CPA with over 4 years of relevant experience.
About the Position
Reporting to the director, the accounting manager will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Support the month-end close process to ensure all reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time
- Prepare and post journal entries across key areas including accruals, prepaids, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue/expense recognition
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are properly supported and resolved in a timely manner
- Investigate and analyze account variances, ensuring clear explanations for unusual or significant fluctuations
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE
- Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and operational teams to ensure financial records are complete and properly recorded
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation tracking
- Review key accounting areas such as revenue recognition, intercompany balances, and expense allocations for accuracy and compliance
- Support the maintenance and strengthening of internal controls and adherence to accounting policies
- Prepare audit schedules and support year-end audit requirements, including responding to auditor requests
- Act as a key support to the Director in day-to-day accounting operations and reporting activities
Requirements
- Designated CPA
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close ownership
- 5 days in office role
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $100,000 to 120,000
- 3 to 4 weeks vacation
