Exciting remote contract opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst with our Government client based in Winnipeg. This will be a 6-month term to start with an expected total duration of 24 months.\nResponsibilities:\nLead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand business objectives and document detailed business requirements.\nAnalyze and document current business processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.\nDevelop comprehensive business cases outlining the costs, benefits, and risks of proposed solutions.\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including IT, operations, and management) to ensure alignment of business and technology solutions.\nCreate functional specifications and user stories, ensuring they are clear, complete, and feasible for implementation.\nConduct impact analysis for proposed changes and enhancements to existing systems and processes.\nProvide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts and team members as needed.\nParticipate in testing and quality assurance efforts, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.\nAssist in the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for end users as necessary.\nDefines and documents business processes involving current and future states.\nActs as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical teams, consultants and other governmental organizations in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of solutions.\nIdentifies opportunities for improving business processes through the use of technology and/or through business process changes.\nReads and interprets technical literature and translates in terms understandable to the end-users or non-technical staff.\nPlans, organizes and conducts business processes. \nReengineering/improvement projects and/or management reviews of programs.\nConsolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Commerce or an equivalent field.\nMinimum of 10 years of experience working as a Business Analyst.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience documenting/conducting process analysis and re-engineering.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience writing requirements, use cases and user stories.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in working on projects in an agile environment.\nMust possess strong political acumen and critical thinking skills\nMust possess a high level of communication, consulting, and client relationship skills.
