This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing Commercial group where you’ll manage sophisticated commercial financing files from start to finish with a high degree of autonomy.\nThis is a remote opportunity open to candidates based in Alberta.\nWhy You’ll Want This Opportunity\nJoin a thriving Commercial group with other experienced Commercial Paralegals supporting Commercial Associates and Partners, with continued growth planned.\nManage a broad range of sophisticated commercial lending and borrower transactions from opening through closing.\nEnjoy a busy, established practice with a steady flow of interesting work.\nWork alongside a collaborative team that values professionalism, client service, and a supportive culture.\nPosition Summary\nThe successful candidate will independently manage commercial financing files for both lenders and borrowers while working closely with lawyers, clients, financial institutions, and external stakeholders to ensure transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage commercial lending and borrower transactions from file opening through closing.\nPrepare and coordinate loan, security, and closing documentation.\nConduct due diligence, including Land Titles, PPR/PPSA, CORES, bankruptcy, and litigation searches.\nRegister and discharge security interests and prepare closing and reporting documents.\nCoordinate with clients, lenders, borrowers, and opposing counsel to ensure smooth, timely closings.\nMaintain accurate file records and monitor key deadlines throughout each transaction.\nWhat You’ll Bring\n5+ years of Commercial Paralegal experience in Alberta.\nProven experience handling both lender and borrower commercial financing files.\nStrong knowledge of Alberta Land Titles, PPR/PPSA, and CORES.\nAbility to independently manage complex transactions with minimal supervision.\nExceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and client service.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary: $70,000-$90,000, depending on experience.\nComprehensive health and dental benefits.\nRRSP matching program.\nAnnual merit-based bonus program.\n4 weeks vacation\nEarned Days Off Program following probation-work an additional 30 minutes per day and receive one day off every two weeks.\nOnboarding\nThe firm offers a comprehensive onboarding program to ensure a smooth transition and set new team members up for success.\nIf you’re an experienced Commercial Paralegal looking to join a respected Alberta law firm where you’ll work on sophisticated commercial transactions within a collaborative and supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
