You will work closely with customers, project teams, and other technical specialists to translate operational requirements into effective solutions, ensuring system performance, quality, and reliability throughout the project lifecycle.\nWhat’s in it for you?\nFlexible working arrangements, including hybrid work options\nCompetitive compensation package with RRSP matching\nComprehensive benefits and access to a wellness program\nA supportive culture that promotes work-life balance\nStructured training, professional development, and ongoing learning opportunities\nKey responsibilities:\nWork with customers and internal engineering teams to define control system requirements, design specifications, and technical standards.\nTranslate process and operational requirements into practical control system designs and engineering solutions.\nDevelop, configure, and validate industrial automation and process control solutions in accordance with project specifications and applicable industry standards.\nReview engineering drawings, technical documentation, system designs, submittals, and service estimates to ensure accuracy and quality.\nCoordinate technical activities across assigned projects, resolving engineering challenges and identifying opportunities to improve system performance.\nParticipate in key project phases, including scope definition, design development, system integration, testing, commissioning, and start-up.\nPlan, execute, and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and other system verification activities to confirm systems meet customer requirements.\nTroubleshoot technical issues, investigate system performance concerns, and implement effective corrective solutions.\nCollaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to coordinate technical deliverables, address project risks, and meet schedule commitments.\nMonitor assigned project activities to ensure engineering quality, scope, and customer expectations are maintained.\nSupport project cost management by identifying technical risks, assessing scope changes, and contributing to change order recommendations.\nAssist with technical estimates for automation hardware, engineering services, and larger project opportunities.\nContribute to the ongoing improvement of engineering procedures, control system standards, and project delivery practices.\nMaintain effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.\nRequirements:\nA university degree in Engineering or a technologist diploma in an engineering discipline.\nAt least six years of experience in control systems engineering, industrial automation, process control, or a related technical field.\nStrong technical knowledge of industrial control systems, automation technologies, and engineering design principles.\nExperience translating customer requirements into technical specifications and practical engineering solutions.\nExperience with system integration, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, or start-up of industrial control systems.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage complex technical challenges.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical priorities.\nA commitment to engineering quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.\nIf you are an experienced control systems professional who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and delivering practical solutions for industrial customers, we encourage you to apply\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
