This role will act as a key link between the engineering team, field supervisors, operations, and technical support groups to ensure electrical work is safely, efficiently, and effectively planned and delivered.\nThe Electrical Coordinator will be responsible for short- and medium-term planning, underground electrical development, power generation and load management, training coordination, technology support, and the successful handover of completed electrical infrastructure to operations.\nCompetitive hourly rate with daily overtime; Annual Range: $125,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience\nKey Responsibilities\nPlanning & SchedulingDevelop and maintain short- and medium-term electrical plans and schedules.\nCoordinate upcoming electrical activities to ensure resources, materials, equipment, and personnel are available when required.\nIdentify potential constraints and proactively develop solutions to maintain project and operational schedules.\n\nEngineering & Field CoordinationCoordinate activities and priorities between the engineering team and field supervisors.\nEnsure engineering requirements, designs, changes, and technical information are effectively communicated to field personnel.\nProvide coordination and follow-up on electrical work to support safe and efficient execution.\n\nUnderground Electrical DevelopmentPlan and coordinate the advancement of underground electrical infrastructure.\nDevelop plans for substation installations, feeder cable advancement, and associated electrical infrastructure.\nCoordinate electrical development activities with mining, construction, engineering, and operations requirements.\n\nPower Generation & Load ManagementSupport planning and coordination of site power generation and electrical distribution.\nMonitor and coordinate electrical loads to support reliable and efficient power utilization.\nAssist with planning for changes in electrical demand associated with development, construction, and operational activities.\n\nTraining & CompetencyIdentify required electrical training and competency requirements.\nCoordinate and book required courses, certifications, and specialized training.\nSchedule specialized trainers to attend site and coordinate logistics to ensure training is completed effectively and on schedule.\nMaintain awareness of upcoming training requirements and support workforce competency planning.\n\n Technology & Systems CoordinationCoordinate requests and technical requirements with industrial programmers, IT, and Operational Technology (OT) teams.\nFacilitate communication between electrical, automation, control, IT, and OT groups.\nSupport the implementation, troubleshooting, and integration of technology related to electrical infrastructure and operations.\n\nProject Handover & CommissioningCoordinate the transition of completed electrical projects and infrastructure from construction/commissioning into operations.\nEnsure infrastructure is complete, functional, documented, and ready to be safely taken over by operations.\nCoordinate outstanding deficiencies, documentation, testing, commissioning requirements, and operational readiness prior to handover.\nWork closely with construction, engineering, commissioning, and operations teams to achieve successful project closeout.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nElectrical trade, engineering technology, engineering, or related technical background.\nExperience working with electrical infrastructure in an industrial, mining, construction, or heavy industrial environment.\nStrong understanding of electrical distribution systems, substations, feeder cables, and power generation.\nExperience with planning, scheduling, project coordination, or electrical operations.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across engineering, operations, maintenance, construction, IT, and OT teams.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.\nAbility to work effectively with both technical and field-based teams.\nExperience with commissioning, project handover, or operational readiness would be an asset.\nKey Competencies\nStrong planning and coordination skills\nTechnical electrical knowledge\nProblem-solving and decision-making\nEffective communication\nAttention to detail\nAbility to prioritize competing demands\nProactive approach to identifying and resolving issues\nStrong understanding of field execution and operational requirements\nCommitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence\nThis opportunity is available to candidates in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Halifax, and St. John’s.\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
