The ideal candidate can step into a busy environment, work independently, has excellent communication skills and can get up to speed quickly.\nThis position is remote; however, candidates must be located in Calgary or the surrounding area, as occasional visits to local locations will be required.\nStart date is ASAP.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nPrepare and analyze monthly financial reporting.\nComplete general ledger entries, reconciliations, and account corrections.\nPrepare bank and other balance sheet reconciliations.\nSupport month-end, quarterly, and year-end reporting activities.\nAssist with forecasting, budgeting, and variance reporting.\nPrepare journal entries and account adjustments.\nSupport full-cycle accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments and account reconciliation.\nInvestigate account discrepancies and inquiries and follow through on required adjustments.\nCoordinate payments, fund transfers, and other finance-related transactions.\nSupport year-end audit working papers and financial schedules.\nWork closely with internal departments and external stakeholders on financial matters.\nAssist with ad hoc reporting, process documentation, and finance projects as required.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n2+ years of directly related accounting, financial reporting or financial analysis experience.\nPost-secondary education in accounting, finance, business or a related field; equivalent education and experience will also be considered.\nStrong general accounting knowledge with experience working with the GL, journal entries, and reconciliations.\nExperience with accounts receivable and invoicing.\nStrong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.\nMicrosoft Business Central experience is a strong asset.\nKnowledge of GAAP and/or PSAB is an asset.\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
