As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a skilled intermediate accounting professional who can work autonomously and collaborate with their dynamic team.\nAre you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple financial functions? We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to support our growing business by handling a broad scope of accounting tasks, project cost tracking, and financial reporting.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nManage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, progress billing, and applying payments accurately\nSupport accounts payable activities by coding expenses to specific projects, ensuring proper allocation\nOversee payroll processing, maintaining separation from local teams, and ensuring timely execution\nPrepare weekly project cost tracking reports and assist in drafting progress draws and tracking billings\nHandle credit card and expense receipt entry, cross-referencing, and ensuring completeness\nSupport month-end and year-end financial closing, preparing necessary reports and filings (GST, etc.)\nMaintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data within QuickBooks\nDouble-check and review the work of other finance support staff to ensure error-free reporting\nSupport internal audits and ensure compliance with established processes and deadlines\nCollaborate with team members and management on financial projects and process improvements\nQualifications & Skills:\nProven experience in general accounting and project-based financial management\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills\nAbility to work autonomously with minimal supervision\nExperience with QuickBooks and familiarity with spreadsheets\nKnowledge of construction or contracting industry accounting (preferred but not mandatory)\nAbility to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage volume\nFlexibility to adapt to changing needs, with entrepreneurial spirit\nExcellent communication skills; direct and proactive approach\nAdditional Information:\nSalary range approximately $65,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience and skills\nThis role reports directly to the operations manager and may involve indirect oversight of supporting staff\nThe position requires five days in the office, with start date flexible based on candidate availability\nThree-month probation period, with opportunities for growth into specialized or managerial roles as the company expands\nOccasional involvement in process refinement, reporting automation, and other growth initiatives\nIf you thrive in a dynamic environment, possess a versatile skill set, and are eager to contribute to a growing organization, we invite you to apply for the this position.\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
