This is an excellent opportunity to join a sophisticated and collaborative practice advising clients on complex, high-value, and sensitive commercial disputes across a broad range of industries.\nWorking closely with experienced lawyers and legal professionals, the successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting complex litigation matters, including general commercial disputes, securities litigation, insolvency, construction, regulatory, product liability, and shareholder activism matters. Please note, this is an on-site role requiring 4 days in-office each week.\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 (commensurate with experience)\nPlease note, this is an on-site role requiring 4 days in-office each week\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport lawyers throughout the full lifecycle of complex commercial litigation matters\nOrganize and maintain litigation files, documents, and case materials to ensure accuracy and accessibility\nCommunicate with clients and lawyers to obtain relevant information and provide verbal and written updates on file status\nSummarize discovery transcripts and cross-examinations, including preparing lists of refusals and undertakings\nAssist with assembling and tracking responses to undertakings\nPrepare bills of costs and assist with other litigation-related financial documentation\nPrepare detailed charts, chronologies, document summaries, and other materials for use at discoveries, motions, and trials\nAssist lawyers and professionals across other offices with obtaining relevant documentation and court materials\nAssist with billing and administrative reporting requirements for select clients\nConduct document review and assist with the preparation and organization of materials required for litigation proceedings\nMaintain organized and accurate files while ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met\nProvide general administrative and litigation support to lawyers and the broader legal team as required\nQualifications\nLaw Clerk Diploma/Certificate or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience\n3+ years of related private practice experience, preferably within a litigation environment\nExperience supporting commercial litigation matters is considered a strong asset\nGeneral familiarity with Ontario Superior Court rules, procedures, and filing protocols\nExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel\nExperience with, or openness to learning, legal industry-related AI tools such as Harvey and Microsoft Copilot\nStrong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills\nStrong client service and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and internal stakeholders\nDemonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively within a fast-paced legal environment\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
