You’ll play an important role in establishing processes, developing a team, and ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.\n\nThe Role\nReporting to plant leadership, the Maintenance Manager will oversee all aspects of maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting, facility upkeep, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with production and operations, you’ll be responsible for minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring maintenance activities meet applicable Saskatchewan safety regulations and Canadian codes and standards.\nKey responsibilities include:\nLead, coordinate, and oversee daily maintenance activities for production machinery, equipment, buildings, and grounds.\nDevelop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment performance and minimize unplanned downtime.\nOversee mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment maintenance, including PLC-controlled systems and robotics.\nSupport the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvement of manufacturing equipment.\nEstablish maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment records, and inventory controls to ensure efficient use of labour, materials, and resources.\nEnsure maintenance activities comply with Saskatchewan occupational health and safety requirements, applicable building and electrical codes, and company safety procedures.\nRecruit, train, mentor, and supervise maintenance personnel, promoting accountability, teamwork, and a strong safety culture.\nCollaborate with production leadership to prioritize repairs, coordinate planned shutdowns, and maintain production schedules.\nMonitor maintenance performance, equipment downtime, and repair costs to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.\nSupport quality management processes, documentation, and applicable ISO 9001 requirements.\nManage maintenance budgets, contractors, service providers, and equipment-related expenditures.\nTravel occasionally for training, equipment evaluations, and company meetings.\nThe Person\nWe’re looking for an experienced industrial maintenance professional who combines strong technical knowledge with practical leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.\nIdeally, you’ll bring:\nA minimum of 5 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience, including previous supervisory or leadership responsibilities.\nA diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a recognized trade certification such as Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Industrial Electrician, would be considered an asset.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical troubleshooting, PLCs, motor drives, robotics, and automated manufacturing equipment.\nExperience with heavy industrial equipment, including presses, overhead cranes, forklifts, fabrication equipment, and welding or cutting machinery.\nKnowledge of tooling installation, setup, and troubleshooting for heavy stamping processes would be a strong asset.\nExperience developing preventative maintenance programs, managing work orders, and using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).\nFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.\nWorking knowledge of Saskatchewan occupational health and safety legislation, applicable Canadian electrical and building codes, and safe maintenance practices.\nAbility to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.\nStrong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.\nA hands-on, solutions-focused approach and the flexibility to support maintenance requirements outside regular operating hours when necessary.\nWhy This Opportunity?\nTake on a key leadership role with an established industrial manufacturer expanding its Canadian operations.\nHelp establish maintenance programs, procedures, and best practices at a new Saskatoon manufacturing facility.\nOpportunity to build and develop a maintenance team while influencing equipment reliability and operational performance.\nWork with a variety of industrial machinery, automated equipment, and manufacturing technologies.\nComprehensive employee benefits package, with retirement savings benefits \nCollaborate with an experienced operations team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nMake a meaningful contribution to the long-term success of a growing Canadian manufacturing operation.\nIf you’re an experienced Maintenance Manager who enjoys leading people, solving technical challenges, and building efficient maintenance operations, we’d welcome the opportunity to connect.\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
