They are looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to support a growing client base and help lead engagement delivery across the firm.\nThis is a strong opportunity for a public practice professional who enjoys private enterprise work, client management, staff leadership, and a mix of compilation, review, and tax compliance engagements. The ideal candidate is technically strong, comfortable managing files independently, and interested in long-term progression within a growing firm.\nAbout the Role\nThe Accounting Manager will oversee a portfolio of private company clients and manage engagements from planning through Partner review. This person will work closely with clients, review work completed by staff, manage deadlines and workflow, and support the continued development of junior team members.\nThe role is primarily focused on compilation and review engagements, along with corporate and personal tax compliance. The firm does not perform audits.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage compilation and review engagements from planning through completion\nReview year-end working papers, financial statements, and tax files\nManage a portfolio of private company and owner-managed business clients\nAct as a primary point of contact for clients and resolve more complex accounting matters\nReview and delegate work across junior and senior staff\nCoach and mentor team members\nManage engagement workflow, deadlines, WIP, and billing\nWork closely with Partners on complex client matters\nSupport process improvements and internal efficiencies\nIdentify opportunities to provide additional value to existing clients\nWho You Are\nCPA designated, or close to completion\n5+ years of Canadian public practice experience\nPrevious Manager-level experience or a strong Senior/Assistant Manager ready to step up\nStrong experience with compilation and review engagements\nExperience working with private companies and owner-managed businesses\nStrong corporate and personal tax compliance knowledge\nComfortable independently managing client relationships and engagement delivery\nExperience reviewing files and supporting junior staff\nStrong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian accounting standards\nOrganized, client-focused, and able to manage competing deadlines\nNice to Have\nExperience with complex or multi-entity private company groups\nExposure to high-net-worth clients\nExperience with CaseWare and Taxprep\nExperience managing WIP, billing, and engagement budgets\nInterest in business development and long-term Partnership progression\nWhy This Role?\nClear long-term growth and Partnership potential\nOpportunity to work closely with senior leadership\nBroad private enterprise client exposure\nGrowing firm with opportunities to help improve processes and shape the practice\nHybrid flexibility after the initial onboarding period\nStandard 40-hour workweek with paid overtime\n4 weeks total vacation, including a paid Christmas office closure\nFull health benefits and RRSP matching\nCPA dues and professional development support\nCompensation in the $110,000-$130,000 range\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
