This position will focus on production accounting, Petrinex reporting, regulatory compliance, and resolving complex production data and reporting issues.\nThe successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in oil and gas production accounting, volumetric reporting, and regulatory requirements, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide subject matter expertise in production accounting, Petrinex, oil and gas infrastructure data, and regulatory reporting requirements.\nInvestigate and resolve complex volumetric reporting, production data, and compliance issues.\nReconcile discrepancies between Petrinex and internal reporting systems, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.\nEnsure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of production and infrastructure reporting data.\nSupport regulatory compliance activities, including managing reporting noncompliance, correspondence, and financial adjustments.\nIdentify opportunities to improve production accounting processes, reporting systems, and data quality.\nParticipate in system enhancements, process improvements, and testing of Petrinex-related changes.\nCollaborate with internal teams, government stakeholders, industry partners, and regulatory bodies to resolve reporting and compliance challenges.\nProvide technical guidance and recommendations to stakeholders on production accounting and reporting requirements.\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.\nCAPPA certification required.\nDemonstrated experience in oil and gas production accounting.\nStrong working knowledge of Petrinex is essential.\nExperience with volumetric and infrastructure reporting, production data reconciliation, and regulatory compliance.\nStrong understanding of Alberta’s oil and gas regulatory reporting requirements.\nProven ability to investigate complex reporting discrepancies and identify practical solutions.\nExperience with system testing, process improvements, and data-quality initiatives.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to work independently and manage competing priorities.\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
