Our client, a leader in their field, has partnered with Aplin to grow their team in Calgary!\nThe Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, procurement, and manufacturing of construction projects, including turnkey solutions and noise management systems. This role requires strong project coordination, client relationship management, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. The Project Manager will define project scope, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and ensure successful completion.\nThis position reports to the Director, Projects.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Planning & Execution\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive project plans.\nDefine and sequence tasks using a Work Breakdown Structure.\nIdentify and secure resources while fostering team collaboration.\nInspire and support team members to achieve project goals.\nIdentify opportunities for improvement and implement lessons learned.\nConduct project closeouts, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.\nManage projects using ProCore system software.\nScope Management\nReview and interpret purchase orders and contracts.\nEnsure all legal documents are signed and securely stored.\nCommunicate and manage changes effectively.\nPrepare and approve contract extras, ensuring accurate invoicing.\nCost Control\nDevelop and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports.\nDrive value analysis efforts to increase contribution margins.\nAnticipate cost challenges and implement proactive solutions.\nEnsure timely invoicing and monitor receivables.\nFollow up on unpaid invoices as needed.\nQuality Assurance\nDefine acceptance criteria for deliverables and ensure compliance.\nMaintain familiarity with ISO standards and enforce quality control.\nEnsure timely submission of quality documents from fabricators.\nScheduling & Risk Management\nUtilize Microsoft Projects for scheduling and progress tracking.\nMonitor vendor schedules and mitigate potential delays.\nForecast and track earned value and revenue recognition.\nIdentify, assess, and mitigate project risks.\nProcurement & Vendor Coordination\nGenerate purchase requisitions and related documents.\nAssist in vendor evaluation and ongoing performance monitoring.\nCommunication & Reporting\nMaintain project documentation in ProCore and OneDrive.\nEnsure team members and stakeholders understand project requirements.\nFacilitate effective communication between the company and clients.\nGenerate reports, meeting agendas, and status updates.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nDevelop a basic understanding of project design and technology.\nStay up to date with best practices in project management.\nMaintain professionalism, integrity, and a strong company reputation.\nTravel as required for customer meetings, job site visits, or vendor reviews.\nSupport other departments as needed, including sales, procurement, estimating, and health & safety.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nPost-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.\nMinimum 10 years of experience in heavy equipment fabrication or industrial construction.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).\nExperience with ProCore or other project management software (an asset).\nBackground in the power sector (preferred).\nEngineering degree (an asset).\nPMP certification or formal project management training (preferred).\nDavid Aplin & Associates Inc., operating as Aplin, and its associated brands, CompuStaff and Impact Recruitment, is an award-winning employment agency connecting diverse, top-tier talent with exceptional organizations across North America.
