{"id":3127400,"url":"https://alion.io/job/aplin-senior-internal-auditor-4","title":"Senior Internal Auditor","company":{"id":3860801,"name":"Aplin","domain":"aplin.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/aplin-2","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":true,"employer_type":"agency","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Schema","truth_index":null},"role":"Finance","role_family":"Finance","seniority":"senior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"explicit","locations":["Richmond, Canada"],"countries":["CA"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":110000,"max":120000,"currency":"CAD","period":"year","gross":null,"usd_annual":85594},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":4,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-23T02:21:28Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-23","last_verified_at":"2026-10-25T10:07:00Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":2,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":2},"description":"To Apply for this Job Click Here\nOur client is a publicly traded organization with operations across Canada and the U.S. They’re adding a Senior Internal Auditor to support operational excellence, strengthen internal controls, and deliver value-added audit and advisory work across the business-including newly acquired operations.\nIn this role, you’ll independently plan and deliver audits and special projects end-to-end, partnering closely with operational and finance leaders.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead financial and operational audits from planning through reporting (risk assessment, sampling, testing, interviews, close-out meetings).\nEvaluate internal controls and provide practical recommendations to improve processes and strengthen governance.\nTrack and follow up on action plans to confirm recommendations are implemented.\nSupport new acquisitions by auditing opening balances, identifying adjustments, and advising on controls and onboarding requirements.\nPerform inventory spot checks and reconciliations, as required during reviews or acquisitions.\nProvide guidance and training on internal controls and select technical accounting topics (e.g., IFRS 16).\nContribute to internal audit planning and Audit Committee reporting/updates.\nMonitor relevant governance/disclosure requirements (e.g., NI 52-109, OSC/CSA updates) and support the finance team with compliance.\nReview IT and system controls related to data integrity, security, and policy adherence.\nAssist with external audit support and special projects (e.g., investigations, incident reviews, operational initiatives).\nQualifications\nMust-haves\nCPA designation (CPA, CA/CGA/CMA)\n4+ years of internal audit experience\nWillingness and ability to travel approximately 20% (with periodic trips up to two weeks at a time as needed)\nKnowledge of internal control frameworks / risk methodologies (e.g., COSO)\nWorking knowledge of Canadian governance/compliance expectations (including NI 52-109)\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to leadership\nCanadian or Mexican citizenship (client requirement)\nAble to meet requirements to obtain a U.S. work visa for business travel (as applicable)\n5 days fully office based position\nValid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for local travel\nNice to have\nExperience with manufacturing and/or distribution, including product costing/variance analysis\nExposure to M&A / post-acquisition integration\nExperience with IT audits and/or data analytics tools\nProfessional certifications (or intention to pursue): CIA, CISA, CFE, CCSA\nExperience contributing to Audit Committee reporting (planning and results)\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary range: $110,000-$120,000, commensurate with experience\nExtended health & dental benefits\n3 weeks’ vacation\nTuition reimbursement\nPension plan\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
