They are recognized for their attention to detail, innovative approach, and commitment to creating vibrant, sustainable neighborhoods.\nAbout the Role\nThis Senior Property Accountant position reports to the Accounting Manager and supports the full-cycle accounting function for a portfolio of commercial properties. The role is suited to someone detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple accounting tasks related to lease administration, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.\nResponsibilities:\nManage the complete accounting cycle for an assigned portfolio of income-producing properties.\nPrepare and review month-end working papers, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.\nAnalyze monthly financial results and investigate variances against budgets and forecasts.\nEvaluate cash flow requirements and assist with forecasting and liquidity planning.\nReview commercial lease agreements and approve lease setups to ensure accurate accounting treatment.\nMaintain and monitor co-tenancy and lease-related schedules.\nPrepare year-end financial statements in accordance with IFRS or ASPE standards.\nComplete annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and oversee related tenant billings.\nPartner with property management, leasing, legal, corporate accounting, and property administration teams to ensure financial matters are accurately reflected and communicated.\nPerform special projects, financial analyses, and account reconciliations as required.\nPrepare quarterly financial reporting packages, including variance analyses and property performance reports.\nRequirements\nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines\n4+ years of experience in commercial property management setting is preferred\nExperience in property accounting, real estate, or property management is an asset\nExperience with Yardi Voyager is an asset\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel\nCompensation\nSalary range: $85,000-$95,000, depending on experience.\nHybrid work arrangement\n3 weeks’ vacation\nDiscretionary bonus\nExtended Health Benefits\nRRSP plan\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
