This is a hybrid role (approximately 3 days in office, 2 remote) in a collaborative, people facing environment where your work has visible impact.\n\nResponsibilities\nLead month end close and monthly financial reporting (reconciliations, journal entries, working papers, schedules)\nSupport year end close and audit preparation (documentation, schedules, compliance support)\nTrack and reconcile restricted and deferred revenue across multiple programs and funding streams\nAssist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow support, and variance analysis\nPartner with internal teams on invoicing, payment processing, and funder reporting\nCoordinate semi monthly payroll across two payroll groups and reconcile payroll to the general ledger\nMaintain payroll records and support benefits administration and employee inquiries\nSupport payroll compliance and year end payroll activities\nStrengthen internal controls and improve accounting policies and procedures\nMentor and support a junior accounting team member\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent education and experience)\nCPA designation or active progress toward CPA PEP (preferred)\nApproximately 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience (strong intermediate candidates ready to step up are welcome)\nStrong foundation in full cycle accounting, month end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting\nPayroll experience is an asset (especially semi monthly payroll and ADP Workforce Now), but not required with solid accounting fundamentals and willingness to learn\nStrong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills\nNot for profit or fund accounting exposure is helpful but not mandatory\nComfortable in a social, collaborative environment with shifting priorities at times\nAble to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check\nSalary and benefits\nAnnual salary: $75,000 to $82,000 (flexibility may be available for the right candidate)\nHours: Full time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM\nHybrid work: approximately 60% in office and 40% remote\n Time off: 2 weeks vacation to start, increasing to 3 weeks after 1 year, plus additional paid organization closures during designated holidays (up to roughly 12 extra paid days depending on the calendar)\n Benefits: employer paid extended health and dental for employees, plus life and accidental coverage; long term disability available (employee paid premium); family coverage available at additional employee cost\n Retirement: RRSP matching (approximately 3% to 5%) starting after 6 months\nAt Aplin - together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems - we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
