They are responsible for segment-wide risk-based approach to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and other key internal audit projects.\nThe Manager of Accounting Compliance & Projects is hands-on, independent, and capable of leading projects, simplifying and standardizing accounting practices, and helping build the next generation of our finance processes. They support both daily execution, manage internal SOX compliance, and facilitate long-term transformation across the segment to support our growth initiatives.\nResponsibilities\nInternal Controls and SOX Compliance\nLead internal controls and SOX compliance across multiple brands and sites.\nFacilitate SOX-related internal and external audit requests and serve as a primary point of contact for auditors.\nIdentify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, and control issues.\nExecute, monitor, and enhance internal controls to maintain SOX compliance and reduce risk.\nFinancial Close and Reporting\nPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements across multiple brands, ledgers, and ERP systems.\nIdentify, investigate, and resolve variances and unusual transactions.\nFacilitate financial-related internal and external audit requests and serve as primary point of contact for auditors.\nProcess Improvement & Problem Solving\nEvaluate existing accounting processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.\nParticipate as subject matter expert (SME) or contributor in cross-functional process improvement initiatives.\nAssist the Controller in maintaining and improving internal controls and business processes.\nMentor and support other accounting team members.\nCross-Functional & Strategic Support\nServe as a trusted accounting resource for high-priority initiatives.\nProvide technical accounting expertise to cross-functional teams.\nCollaborate with finance, operations, and business leaders to support organizational objectives.\nCross train, back up, and support the broader accounting team.\nContribute to special projects and strategic initiatives that impact the broader organization.\nLeadership\nSupport a team of accounting professionals.\nSet priorities, delegate work, and ensure timely, accurate completion of team responsibilities.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.\nPersonal Attributes and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. \n7+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience at a public accounting firm or company\nExperience with SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit coordination.\nManufacturing or construction industry experience is preferred.\nInternational financial experience preferred.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; technical accounting experience is preferred.\nPrior ERP experience is preferred (SAP, JDE, Epicor, or similar platforms).\nCPA or similar preferred.\nProven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.\nExcellent attention to detail.\nStrong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.\nAbility to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions with limited direction.\nComfortable working in a dynamic, matrixed organization across multiple systems and locations.\nOccasional additional hours may be required during month-end close, audits, or special projects.\nStrategic application of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies to drive business outcomes, enhance decision-making, and improve operational efficiency.\nWork Environment\nThis is a hybrid role with 3-4 days/week in office in Faribault. The noise level in the office is generally moderate.
