Our integrated capabilities include design, engineering, extrusion, finishing, fabrication, and assembly.\nThrough trusted brands including Alumicor, EFCO, Linetec, Tubelite, and Wausau, we deliver quality, consistency, and value-added solutions for the commercial building industry.\nThe Opportunity\nWe’re looking for an experienced Production Maintenance Technician II to help keep our manufacturing equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.\nIn this role, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair complex production equipment, assist with equipment modifications and relocations, and help develop other members of the maintenance team.\nIf you enjoy diagnosing problems, working hands-on with industrial equipment, and putting your mechanical expertise to work, this could be a great opportunity to grow your career with Apogee.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPut safety first by following all required procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and fall protection.\nTroubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and production equipment.\nPerform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and performance.\nDiagnose issues involving mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.\nRepair or replace defective components, parts, and systems.\nUse welding machines, machining equipment, multimeters, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.\nOperate medium- to heavy-duty equipment, including personnel and material lifts.\nRead and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and equipment documentation.\nAssist with equipment modifications, installations, and relocations.\nDocument repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance activities.\nPartner with production, engineering, contractors, and other maintenance team members to resolve equipment issues.\nWork independently while effectively managing time, resources, and priorities.\nMentor Maintenance Technician I employees and help develop their trade skills.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nEducation & Training\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nTechnical or vocational training in industrial maintenance.\nExperience\n10+ years of maintenance mechanic experience, preferably at the journeyman level.\nStrong experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment.\nHands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.\nExperience using common hand and power tools.\nExperience with fabrication equipment and methods, including saws, lathes, mills, and welders.\nSkills\nStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.\nProficiency reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.\nAbility to diagnose and repair complex machinery.\nAbility to coordinate contractors, supplies, equipment, and other resources for project execution.\nAbility to train and mentor others in maintenance skills and equipment operation.\nBasic computer proficiency, including data entry and maintenance documentation.\nStrong communication, teamwork, dependability, and critical-thinking skills.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nSuccessful Maintenance Technician II team members:\nWork safely and consistently follow established procedures.\nComplete assigned work accurately and efficiently.\nMaintain a dependable and productive work pace.\nCommunicate effectively with maintenance, production, and engineering teams.\nTake ownership of equipment issues from diagnosis through repair.\nSupport continuous improvement and a strong team-focused work culture.\nShare their knowledge and help develop less-experienced technicians.\nWork Environment\nThis position works in an active manufacturing environment where employees may be exposed to machinery, varying temperatures, production dust, and elevated noise levels.\nTeam members frequently work around equipment with moving parts and are expected to follow established safety procedures at all times.\nOur manufacturing operations may require overtime and weekend work based on production needs.\nBring Your Experience.
