This role combines deep technical execution with team leadership. The individual will define backend standards, govern repository structure and security, lead performance optimization initiatives, and mentor developers while remaining actively involved in solution design and complex implementation.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDrive adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., Cursor, AI code assistants JetBrains, Claude Code) to improve developer productivity, code quality, and architectural consistency.\nEvaluate and integrate emerging Adobe initiatives, including AI-powered capabilities and agent-based workflows within AEM and Adobe Experience Cloud.\nStay current with Adobe’s roadmap around generative AI, intelligent content automation, and agent-driven orchestration.\nEnable the team through training and knowledge-sharing sessions on AI-driven development practices.\nLead a team of AEM backend developers.\nConduct code reviews with focus on:Security\nPerformance\nScalability\nClean architecture\n\nMentor engineers on Sling Models, JCR best practices, and secure development.\nProvide technical escalation support for complex issues.\nParticipate in hiring and onboarding of AEM engineers and other firm initiatives.\nQualifications & Experience\n12+ years of enterprise software development.\n6-8+ years of hands-on AEM backend experience.\nStrong expertise in:Java\nSling Models lifecycle and optimization\nOSGi services\nJCR / Oak internals\nRepo Init configuration\nACL and group-based security models\nUniversal Editor\n\nProven experience leading backend architecture decisions\nHands-On experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud with Marketo & Pardot as Good to have.\nReview and approve technical designs before implementation.\nLead refactoring initiatives to improve maintainability and performance.\nExperience supporting enterprise-scale public or intranet platforms.\nStrong debugging and production incident management experience.\nApollo provides equal employment opportunities regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, race, color, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, veteran status, gender/sex or sexual orientation, or any other criterion or circumstance protected by applicable law, ordinance, or regulation.
