You'll report directly to the CFO, who sets direction and priorities; you take it from there, owning execution end to end and making sure the work is done accurately and on time.\nThis role is both controller and accounting manager. You'll be accountable for the books the way a controller is, and you'll also do the day-to-day work yourself: coding transactions, entering bills, invoicing, reconciling accounts and closing the month. It's an individual contributor role, built for someone who wants real ownership and is happy to roll up their sleeves to deliver it.\nWhat you'll do\nDo the work (hands-on, every day)\nRecord and code daily transactions, and keep the general ledger and chart of accounts current.\n\nEnter and process vendor bills and payments, and manage card spend and expense reports.\n\nRun procure-to-pay day to day: vendor setup, purchase requests and POs, bill entry and matching, and vendor payments.\n\nManage card spend and expense reports, keeping receipts and coding complete.\n\nPrepare and book journal entries, including accruals, prepaids and payroll entries.\n\nPerform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations every month.\n\nDo the close work yourself, from cutoff through final entries.\n\nKeep vendor records, supporting documentation and close files organized.\n\nOwn the books (controller responsibilities)\nOwn the month-end close: set the close calendar and deliver accurate financial statements on schedule.\n\nApply US GAAP judgment, research technical accounting questions as they come up, and document positions clearly.\n\nDesign and maintain accounting processes and internal controls that scale with the company.\n\nGet the most out of our finance systems (QuickBooks and Ramp today), and help evaluate new tools as needs grow.\n\nSupport the CFO on audit and tax readiness, budgeting and forecasting inputs, and ad hoc analysis.\n\nWhat you bring\n5-8 years of accounting experience, ideally in a startup or high-growth company.\n\nA strong technical accounting foundation: US GAAP, general ledger, reconciliations and financial statement preparation.\n\nCurrent, hands-on experience: in your recent roles you've personally booked entries, run AP/AR, done reconciliations and closed the books, not only reviewed others' work.\n\nComfort doing bookkeeping-level work yourself, and seeing it as part of owning the books rather than beneath the role.\n\nSolid experience with modern, cloud-based finance systems.\n\nClear communication with colleagues across teams and time zones.\n\nNice to have\nManufacturing, inventory and cost accounting experience.\n\nCPA (preferred, not required).\n\nExperience with multi-entity or international
