We primarily work remotely but have a hub in Denver.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Cybersecurity Engineer is a hands-on practitioner who implements, and manages security, networking, and cloud technologies for Apollo’s clients. The role blends product depth and fluency: designing solutions, deploying and configuring tooling, and operating those environments day to day. The ideal engineer can move fluidly between security platforms, network infrastructure, and cloud services.\nKey Responsibilities:\nParticipate in the assessment of client environments against established frameworks and standards including NIST CSF 2.0, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, CMMC, CJIS, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.\n\nDesign secure solutions across cybersecurity, networking, and cloud technologies, balancing client business needs with sound security architecture.\n\nPerform configuration, installation, enablement, and maintenance of security products and services.\n\nResearch and implement solutions to technical problems, including design changes to client environments.\n\nMaintain deployed security, network, and cloud environments to ensure continued operational performance.\n\nPerform network administration tasks, including client trouble tickets and design changes.\n\nMonitor security events and investigate suspicious activities.\n\nPartner with SOC Analysts to develop and refine SIEM correlation rules and custom detection methods.\n\nLeverage platforms and services to gather data, generate reports, and support clients and other departments with analysis.\n\nParticipate in the successful completion of small to medium-sized projects.\n\nPrepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols for security operations.\n\nCollaborate across teams and departments to address security concerns.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\nExperience in cybersecurity, network administration, or systems administration, with at least some of that time in a hands-on engineering capacity.\n\nDemonstrated experience implementing, and managing security and/or network technologies in production\n\nExperience with common security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, EDR/MDR).\n\nScripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).\n\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to manage multiple client priorities in a fast-paced managed services environment.\n\nClear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document designs and explain technical concepts to clients\n\nPreferred\nExperience in security engineering or architecture\n\nProduct expertise with network security providers such as Fortinet or Sophos (and exposure to Palo Alto, Cisco).\n\nProficiency with cloud platforms M365, Azure, GCP, or AWS, including cloud-native security services.\n\nIdentity and access management best-practice expertise.\n\nExperience with one or more SIEM platforms (e.g., Stellar Cyber, Splunk, LogRhythm, Elastic, or Azure Sentinel).\n\nExperience with vulnerability management and asset visibility tooling (e.g., Tenable, Sevco, or similar).\n\nFamiliarity with cloud identity and access management across platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace, including SSO and MFA configuration.\n\nExposure to managed services or MSSP delivery models, including multi-tenant operations and client facing engagement.\n\nExpectations:\nAt 30 days:\nComplete onboarding to Apollo's core tool stack, internal systems, and the Aegis platform\n\nShadow at least two active client environments to build context on Apollo's customer base, deployment patterns, and the practical realities of what you'll be supporting and building\n\nMeet every member of the engineering and SOC teams; understand who owns what and how work flows between functions\n\nWithin 90 days:\nOwn at least one scoped technical workstream independently with minimal hand-holding\n\nDemonstrate working knowledge of the threat landscape relevant to Apollo's SLED and SMB clients;
