Watcher is deployed in production and monitors billions of agent tokens per month across engineering teams at agent-building scale-ups and multinational enterprises.\nWe are hiring our founding Account Executive. You will own the full sales cycle end to end and build the playbook the rest of the GTM team runs on.\nOur best conversations often start from a high-value interaction: an introduction from an investor, advisor or customer, a conference panel, a roundtable, the security communities our buyers already belong to, or the credibility of our research. A large part of this job is creating more of these. The other part is targeted outbound into groups where we have something specific to offer.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nCreate the way in\nMap target accounts to identify decision-makers, organizational structures, current pain points, and existing connections.\n\nIdentify warm introduction paths via investors, advisors, clients, partners, and networks, then brief connectors and draft messaging to ensure successful connections.\n\nCapitalize on key engagement opportunities, such as speaking panels, hosted roundtables, buyer communities, and embedded partners.\n\nExecute highly targeted outbound campaigns focused on specific buyer segments, proven solutions, and relevant triggers rather than high volume.\n\nOwn the sales cycle end to end\nRun discovery, demos, and technical evaluations with security and engineering leaders.\n\nScope and drive proofs of concept (POCs): establish success metrics up front, maintain pilot momentum, and drive conversion.\n\nBuild compelling commercial and ROI cases to secure executive-level investment.\n\nOwn commercial negotiation, security review, procurement and close in sophisticated, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving senior business, technology, R&D, procurement, legal and executive decision-makers\n\nBuild the playbook and hiring the team\nWrite down what works. Qualification criteria, discovery questions, POC structure, pricing guidance, objection handling, security questionnaire answers.\n\nBuild and own the CRM; report on pipeline health, conversion, and what's working well enough to double down on\n\nDefine what we need to hire next, and help to hire it.\n\nProduct and market insights\nBring honest signals back about why deals progress or stall.\n\nWork with the product team on positioning, pricing, and the collateral enterprise buyers actually ask for.\n\nREPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS\nOpen an account cold. Pick a target we currently have no route into. Map it, find the warmest path through our network, create the reason for the first conversation, and run it all the way to a scoped pilot.\n\nCompress the cycle. Enterprise evaluations in this market routinely take longer than they need to. Take the process apart, work out where the time actually goes, and rebuild it so an evaluation reaches a decision faster.\n\nLand a lighthouse enterprise. Take a large, slow, security-conscious organisation from first conversation through technical evaluation, security review and procurement to a production contract, and turn the process into a documented path the next one can follow.\n\nWrite the playbook. By the time we add the next two people to this team, the thing that gets them productive in a month rather than six should be something you wrote.\n\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nMust-haves\nYou have closed enterprise deals as an individual contributor for 5+ years.\n\nYou have sold at an early-stage company, before it had a machine. You have 2+ years in a startup without mature marketing, an SDR team or brand recognition doing the work for you.\n\nYou have closed into large, slow organisations. Our pipeline includes banks, quant funds and government bodies. You have personally run deals through security review, architecture review and procurement, and you have a realistic sense of how long that takes and how to compress it.\n\nTechnical credibility with a technical buyer. Our buyers are directors of product security, principal security engineers and engineering leaders. You need to run discovery and a technical evaluation with them without a sales engineer in the room, understand the architecture well enough to be useful, and know when to bring in someone deeper.\n\nHigh agency and ownership. You decide where the quarter goes, you make the call with incomplete information, and you are accountable for the outcome. Nobody here will be assigning you a territory or a target list.\n\nStartup pace. Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities, and willing to grind when it matters.\n\nComfortable leveraging AI heavily for research, drafting and deal work, while holding the output to a high standard.\n\nStrong nice-to-haves\nYou have sold security, developer tools, or infrastructure\n\nExperience with coding agents as a user. You have used Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar heavily.\n\nFamiliarity with how security teams evaluate vendors, from either side of the table.\n\nExplicitly not required\nFormal AI safety background. We need an excellent seller who can learn the AI safety context, and we will teach you what you need to know.\n\nManagement experience. This starts as an individual contributor role.\n\nBENEFITS\nThis role offers market competitive salary, equity, and competitive benefits.\n\nBase Salary: £85,000 - £129,000; Variable: performance incentives against ARR targets\n\nEveryone at Apollo effectively has an unlimited token budget. If a better result costs more compute, use it.\n\nFlexible work hours and schedule\n\nUnlimited vacation\n\nUnlimited sick leave\n\nUp to 6 months of paid parental leave\n\nComprehensive health, dental and vision insurance\n\nRetirement savings with competitive employer matching\n\nLunch, dinner, and snacks are provided for all employees on workdays\n\nPaid work trips, including staff retreats, business trips, and relevant conferences\n\nA yearly $1,000 (USD) professional development budget\n\nRelocation support and visa fees (if applicable)\n\nLOGISTICS\nTime Allocation: Full-time\n\nLocation: This is an in-person role working out of our London office, with regular travel to conferences and customer sites. We offer flexible working hours and some wfh arrangements.\n\nVisa sponsorship: We sponsor visas in the UK. Sponsorship isn't guaranteed for every role or candidate, but if we make you an offer, we'll work with you to find the right visa route.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6394,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":2,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Flexible schedule","Parental leave","Professional development","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":true,"industries":["AI Safety & Alignment"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-23T19:13:17Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Skilled Worker, Senior or Specialist Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Skilled Worker; Global Business Mobility: Senior or Specialist Worker","cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-31T06:23:40+00:00","sources":["UK Home Office: register of licensed sponsors (workers)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":7,"expected_fill_days":101,"reasons":["conf:0","win:early","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-10-31T05:58:55Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/apollo-research-founding-account-executive-product-watcher","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/apollo-research-founding-account-executive-product-watcher.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-31T14:46:44Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":23011,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-01T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":178413},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=178413"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fapollo-research-founding-account-executive-product-watcher"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fapollo-research-founding-account-executive-product-watcher"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fapollo-research-founding-account-executive-product-watcher"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/apollo-research-founding-account-executive-product-watcher\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fapollo-research-founding-account-executive-product-watcher"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":3173461}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"apolloresearch.ai","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":3173461},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
