Responsible for executing the laboratory waste disposal program.\nResponsible and accountable for compliance with all aspects of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as Apotex’s Health and Safety policies, Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and Safety Charter.\nThis role is for Afternoon shift - Monday to Friday, 3.00 pm to 11.00 pm\nJob Responsibilities\nIdentify and address all potential Health and Safety hazards in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.\nPerform automatic and manual cleaning of laboratory glassware according to approved procedure.\nMonitor and maintain adequate supply of lab consumable items in stock rooms at all times.\nMaintain a constant inventory of basic lab and cleaning supplies and glassware for general lab use.\nPerform clerical support and other related duties as required.\nPerform cleaning of dissolution baths as assigned. Assist with maintenance of dissolution apparatus by topping up water level and replacing worn tubing.\nResponsible for collecting laboratory waste, including liquid waste, lab pack waste, syringes and vial waste, and disposing waste according to established protocol. Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs is involved.\nPerform LIMS entries for laboratory chemicals including preparation of labels and disposal of empty bottles.\nMaintain an orderly work area, including cleaning of sinks and countertops throughout the laboratory on a regular basis.\nMaintenance of gas cylinders for Laboratory, changing empty cylinders in a timely manner.\nWorks in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.\nEnsure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.\nAll other relevant duties as assigned.\nJob Requirements\nSecondary School Diploma or equivalent.\nProficiency in Written and Verbal English communication.\nKnowledge of Excel, Word, other Microsoft office programs, and laboratory software programs, and laboratory software packages would be an asset.\nExperience in a Lab environment would be an asset.\nAt Apotex, we are committed to fostering a welcoming and accessible work environment, where all everyone feels valued, respected, and supported to succeed.\nWe offer accommodation for applicants with disabilities as part of its recruitment process.
