As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and building scalable and performant backend architecture, owning and driving the technical roadmap for sizable projects or services. You will also take responsibility for service operations - ensuring reliability, availability, and efficient deployment of large-scale distributed systems.\nResponsibilities\nEngage in the design of large-scale backend systems and distributed services\nContribute to technical roadmap and planning\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and high-performance systems\nTroubleshoot production issues and contribute to root cause analysis\nEnsure high reliability through best practices in service operation, monitoring, and deployment\nParticipate in on-call rotations and lead incident response when required\nAbout You\n[Minimum qualifications]\n8+ years of experience in software development\nProficient in modern C++ programming (C++11 and later)\nFamiliar with Unix/Linux environments\nSolid understanding of system programming\nExperience in developing low-latency (millisecond-scale) and high-throughput (>1K QPS per machine) systems\nExperience in service optimization and performance tuning\nStrong sense of ownership and good problem-solving skills\n[Preferred qualifications]\nExperience in modern build systems\nExperience in operation automation tools\nExperience with monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks\n[Language]\nFluent in English or Chinese.\nOpen to overseas candidates/Visa Support\n This position is based in Tokyo, Japan.
