You will join the team building a migration platform, where an LLM proposes SQL and mappings, a person reviews and approves them, and the approved logic is reused at scale. Your focus will be the reverse direction of the sync, taking changes made in the target platform back into each source system, along with the rules that classify and resolve the records that fail to sync.\nNote: This position is offered under a6-month contractor framework, with the possibility of extension.\nYou Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.\n3+ years of software development experience with Python and software engineering best practices.\nAdvanced SQL skills working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery.\n1+ year of experience building LLM applications that run in production, beyond prototypes.\nExperience integrating hosted LLM APIs into production environments, including structured output and its validation.\nExperience with prompt engineering, prompt versioning, fallback strategies, and cost and latency optimization.\nExperience evaluating LLM output with test cases and clear evaluation methodologies.\nDemonstrated ability to understand and modify a partially documented codebase that you did not write.\nDemonstrated use of AI tools in your daily workflow, with an explicit step to verify what they produce.\nStrong autonomy, attention to detail, and comfort with ambiguity as requirements evolve.\nAdvanced English fluency.\nNice to haves:\nExperience in data migration or ETL projects.\nExperience with Vertex AI or Gemini.\nExperience extracting data from spreadsheets or documents.\nExperience with MLOps practices, including CI/CD, observability, and reproducible pipelines.\nYou Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:\nPrepare the context for each migration process, including functional documentation, source schema, and target data model, so the LLM generates accurate mappings in both directions.\nDesign and tune the prompts the LLM uses to propose queries, mappings, and transformation rules, reducing rework during human review.\nReview generated SQL and mappings against both data models, validating entities, fields, relationships, and constraints.\nResolve cases the LLM does not handle reliably, such as identifiers that change format between systems or data that conflicts with a constraint, while keeping the constraint in place.\nBuild parameterized queries that detect what changed on each side since the last sync, including sources that are not databases, such as spreadsheets and document folders.\nWork with the Senior Python Developer on safeguards for LLM-generated SQL, enabling controlled and approved writes to source systems.\nAutomatically classify records that fail to sync by root cause, including conflicts where the same data changed on both sides, and turn each treatment into an approved rule.\nAutomate repetitive migration preparation tasks, such as loading inputs, generating artifacts, and comparing artifact versions.\nVersion every approved artifact together with the inputs that produced it, and document the preparation procedure so other teams can reuse it.\n 3+ years of experience with Python, plus advanced SQL on PostgreSQL, MySQL, and BigQuery\nProduction LLM applications experience, including hosted LLM API integration, structured output, and validation\nPrompt engineering and versioning, fallback strategies, cost and latency optimization, and LLM evaluation methodologies\n About Us\nWe Are Engineered Different.\nAt Applaudo, talented people design, build, and scale meaningful, AI-powered solutions that create real business impact.
