Cloud Architect (GCP)

About You

You are a Cloud Architect with strong experience guiding and advising on the design of scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. You bring broad, in-depth knowledge of GCP architecture and act as a trusted technical advisor, supporting clients and engineering teams in making sound architecture decisions.plementations, and promoting DevOps best practices across projects and environments.

You are adaptable, proactive, and committed to promoting cloud architecture best practices across projects and environments.

Note: this position requires regular on-site presence at our offices.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture and solutions.
• Broad and in-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and cloud architecture best practices.
• Proven experience acting as a technical advisor, supporting architecture decisions and validating cloud solutions against best practices.
• Experience with the deployment of applications in cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, including Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of perimeter security best practices in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and best practices. (Nice to have)
• Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect (PCA) and/or Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE). (Nice to have)
• Advanced English proficiency.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

• Propose and implement best practices related to cloud architecture, security, governance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write and maintain Terraform configurations to manage GCP infrastructure as code.
• Design and maintain infrastructure, network, topology, and service diagrams across Development, QA, and Production environments.
• Support and optimize CI/CD lifecycle processes and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with technical teams to guide cloud implementation strategies and operational excellence initiatives.
• Take ownership of assigned cloud environments, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams regarding cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on architecture and infrastructure.
• Proven experience acting as a technical advisor or architect, guiding cloud solutions and best practices.
• Experience with application deployment in cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong knowledge of perimeter security in cloud environments.
• Advanced English proficiency.
