Imagine what you could do here.\nWe are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the IS&T Finance ACES team.\nIS&T Finance ACES is IS&T’s dedicated technology partner for Apple’s finance functions. We build the systems that power how Apple manages its money, from procurement and payments to accounting, real estate, and financial reporting. We deliver integrated technology solutions that keep these functions running efficiently and securely at global scale. We also work closely with business teams to develop custom tools that improve productivity and bring greater automation and consistency to finance operations across Apple. Finance teams around the world rely on our services every day, so they need to be reliable, secure, and easy to use.\nDescription\nWe’re looking for a technical leader who builds and scales enterprise-grade distributed systems and leads the engineers who build them. You’ll stay hands-on in design and code, own your team’s delivery and quality, and grow the people around you. You’ll work across product, QA, support and partner teams, including contractors and colleagues in other time zones.\nMinimum Qualifications\n12+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise-grade systems, including at least 8 years of hands-on experience building and operating production systems,\n3+ years of experience leading, managing and mentoring engineering teams\nExperience in at least one mainstream backend language.\nExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle\nExperience designing and delivering large systems, with a focus on performance, scalability and resiliency\nExperience with Agile software development, and the judgment to adapt the process to what works for the team\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with containers and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes\nExperience with NoSQL databases such as Redis, MongoDB or Couchbase\nExperience hiring and building engineering teams\nExperience managing and collaborating with contractors or external partners\nAbility to prioritize and make sound trade-off decisions grounded in software engineering and architecture principles\nExcellent communication, leadership and presentation skills, including working effectively with geographically distributed leaders, peers and partners\nExperience building products with AI/ML, including LLMs, prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)\nExperience with finance or enterprise business systems (e.g. procurement, payments, accounting)\nStrong hands-on experience in
