We are particularly interested in 3D reconstruction, depth estimation, neural rendering, view synthesis, and image and video synthesis. You will work directly with an organization of world-class machine learning researchers and engineers. Our work powers cutting-edge technologies across the Apple ecosystem and is published in the most selective scientific journals and conferences.\nDescription\nYou are in your final years of a PhD programme in Machine Learning, Statistics, or Computer Vision, and have already published some of your work at top-tier venues in the field. During your time with us, you will continue sharpening your research skills as we go through the various collaborative stages of an ML research project: Identifying a promising research opportunity, reviewing state-of-the-art methods and relevant literature, crafting novel approaches, implementing them as code prototypes, planning and running large-scale experiments across multi-node, multi-GPU systems, writing a paper, and seeing it through to submission.\nTopics of interest include but are not limited to 3D reconstruction, depth estimation, neural rendering, view synthesis, and image and video synthesis. You’ll further have the opportunity to collaborate with world-class researchers outside of your immediate internship location. Ultimately, you will work towards publishing new findings arising from the project, either or both as open source code and publications.\nMinimum Qualifications\nYou are working towards a doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, data science, applied mathematics, or equivalent.\nAt the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue your education or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate.\n6 months dedication is preferred, and starting no later than March 2026.\nSolid software engineering skills in complex, multi-language systems. Fluency in Python.\nExperience with PyTorch.\nProven research expertise in machine learning and/or computer vision.\nPublication record in relevant conferences (e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH, etc).\nPreferred Qualifications\nAbility to formulate a research problem, design, experiment, implement and communicate solutions.\nAbility to work in a diverse collaborative environment.\nStrong mathematical skills in linear algebra, probability, optimization and statistics.\nAction oriented.\nStrong overall software development approach.
