From frictionless local development environments to intelligent CI/CD pipelines and pre-deploy integration testing, we eliminate friction and shift quality left so teams can innovate without fear of breaking production.\nWhat you will be doing:\nIn this role, you will architect and scale self-service developer tooling, modern build systems, and automated validation frameworks used daily by retail engineering teams globally. You will partner closely with engineering teams to identify delivery bottlenecks, turning complex workflows into seamless, highly reliable automated pipelines. Your work will directly elevate developer velocity and define how world-class retail experiences are built and deployed.\nMinimum Qualifications\nB.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience.\n5+ years proven experience developing software in a professional capacity. Longer experience preferred.\n2+ years proven experience with Java, including proficiency in concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization techniques.\nProficiency in OOP principles, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns (e.g. GoF), with a proven focus on implementing testable, maintainable, and extensible backend code.\nExperience building production applications with the Spring ecosystem (e.g. Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, etc.), including proficiency in dependency injection, auto-configuration, reactive programming with WebFlux, and designing microservices using Spring-based patterns.\nProficiency in Java web (e.g. ServiceTalk, Spring, Dropwizard, Quarkus, Micronaut, etc.) and unit testing frameworks (e.g. JUnit, Mockito, etc.).\nPreferred Qualifications\nTrack record of leading software projects within a team as a tech lead (TL), while mentoring software engineers.\nHands-on experience leveraging GenAI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Codex) to accelerate the software development lifecycle, enhance code quality, and streamline debugging and testing processes.\nSolid understanding of advanced JVM internals (e.g. garbage collection, memory allocation, JIT, JNI, etc.).\nExperience with complementary programming languages beyond Java (e.g. Go, Python, Ruby, etc.), including practical use for automation scripting, infrastructure tooling, data processing pipelines, and build system customizations.\nExperience using relational (e.g. Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, etc.) and NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.) databases, including proficiency in schema design, query optimization, performance tuning (e.g. execution plan analysis, indexing strategy, and query rewriting).\nComfortable using CI/CD tools to build, test, deploy, and release containerized software applications on cloud-based Kubernetes (e.g. AWS EKS, GCP GKE, Azure AKS,
