Our challenge is to deliver an experience that is simple to use and understand even as our system’s features get more advanced.\nAs a Staff Engineer on the Screen Time team, your responsibilities will include:\n- Evolving and realizing the technical vision for Screen Time and working cross-functionality to align on that vision with partner teams\n- Breaking down the most complex technical challenges into the right phases and abstractions so the work can be distributed across the team\n- Purposefully and intentionally investing in the growth of junior engineers\nThe implications of succeeding in this role are huge - together, we have the agency to shape healthy habits for billions of people now and into the future!\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor of Computer Science or equivalent skills and work experience\nTrack record of success - you have 10+ years of SwiftUI/Swift or UIKit/AppKit/Objective-C software engineering experience with impact to show for it\nStellar engineering quality & output - you separate concerns and define well-abstracted interfaces, delivering performant, well-tested, maintainable code with appropriate failure modes\nTechnical leadership - you exemplify “what good looks like” in code, in documentation, making and delivering on commitments, and prioritization\nCritical thinking with influence - you systematically evaluate the tradeoffs associated with each potential solution to a problem, make an informed decision, and articulate these things well to influence others, driving impact\nPreferred Qualifications\nCustomer focus - you make high-quality, user-centric product decisions\nPlatform API design - you’re proficient at designing, building, and supporting a platform, understanding customer needs and constraints\nMentorship -
