You enjoy the moment when code makes a physical device do something, you’re comfortable standing at a lab bench, and you take a problem from a vague request to a working solution that people actually use.\nMinimum Qualifications\nB.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar\n3+ years of hands-on software development experience, with a track record of shipping tools or applications that others use\nSolid working experience in Python applications development\nA genuine interest in hardware: comfortable around lab equipment, reading datasheets, and debugging across the hardware/software boundary\nAbility to take an open-ended problem and deliver a complete working solution on your own, from requirements to deployment.\nGood programming fundamentals: data structures, concurrency, I/O, testing, and debugging\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively with advanced AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar) as part of daily engineering practice\nStrong communication skills and a service mindset toward internal users such as researchers and hardware engineers\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with Swift, TypeScript and React and the ability to become productive in it quickly, with experience on macOS\nExperience building lab automation, test fixtures, instrument control, or measurement software (e.g., SCPI/VISA, DAQ, oscilloscopes, power supplies)\nExperience with hardware interfaces and protocols: USB, UART, SPI/I2C, BLE, or network-based device control\nExperience building dashboards and databases for engineering data (web or cloud, SQL/NoSQL)\nExperience implementing signal-processing or other algorithms in Python\nExperience with Windows development or tooling, and with cross-platform deployment\nC, C++, or Objective-C experience for performance-sensitive or driver-adjacent code\nBackground in embedded or firmware-adjacent development\nHobby or personal hardware projects (electronics, 3D printing, sensors, robotics)\nExperience with CI/CD, packaging, and distributing internal tools to many
