You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable automation solutions, raise product quality, and help shape the future of AI-driven testing workflows within the Apple ecosystem.\nIf you are passionate about software quality, automation, and solving complex engineering challenges, we would love to hear from you.\nDescription\nWe are looking for a Tools and Automation Engineer to build, own, and evolve the test automation ecosystem for iCloud's core products across iOS, macOS, and the web. You will design the frameworks, tools, and infrastructure that make testing reliable and scalable across large, complex systems, and you will apply AI to how tests are written, run, and triaged.\nThe ideal candidate is a strong software engineer first. You have deep experience building production-quality automation, and you debug problems across every layer of the stack. You can own a project end to end: deciding what needs to be automated, designing and delivering it, and producing a signal people trust when they make release decisions. You work well in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly when priorities change, and make the engineers around you more effective.\nMinimum Qualifications\n4+ years of experience in test automation, software development in test, or quality engineering.\nStrong programming skills in Python, Swift, or a comparable language.\nProven track record of building and maintaining production-quality automation code.\nExperience designing and building automated test frameworks and tools, not only writing tests within existing ones.\nExperience writing test plans and creating automated UI tests with XCTest, WebDriver, or equivalent tools.\nSolid understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and QA processes.\nExperience working with CI systems and test infrastructure.\nStrong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and triage difficult problems both independently and collaboratively.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading quality for a cross-functional project, or owning automation for a product area end to end.\nExperience mentoring engineers or setting technical direction for an automation codebase.\nExperience integrating LLMs or agentic workflows into developer and QA tooling, such as automated failure triage, test-case generation, or log and artifact analysis.\nHands-on experience using AI coding assistants to speed up test authoring, debugging, and automation development.\nExperience building internal developer tools or test infrastructure, such as execution platforms, test data services, or results dashboards.\nFamiliarity with API, integration, and UI automation strategies, and with testing distributed cloud services.\nHands-on experience with Apple platforms (iOS, macOS) and the web.\nExperience improving test reliability and reducing flakiness in large-scale environments.\nExcellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.\nBS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical
