This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions\nAbout the Role\nWe're looking for Mechatronics Integration Engineers who are curious, hands-on, and excited to deliver impactful features at the intersection of software, hardware, and real-world customer environments. In this role, you'll work across software and hardware systems to ensure seamless full-system integration for customer delivery - both in the lab and in the field.\nAt Applied Intuition, you will:\nOwn end-to-end product development process of Applied's autonomy and drive-by-wire system and lead integrations from initial setup through steady-state operations\n\nBuild a deep understanding of mining vehicle system architecture and software-hardware interactions, including reverse-engineering third-party systems\n\nDesign and evaluate sensors, actuators, and communication technologies into existing vehicle systems\n\nLead the embedded application development and integration of the electromechanical systems into mining vehicle platforms\n\nAct as the primary technical expertise for firmware/mechatronics systems: triage issues, collect logs/telemetry, reproduce problems, and coordinate fixes with the Hardware/Firmware development team while keeping customers unblocked\n\nPartner with customer operations teams to establish operating procedures, training, and go/no-go criteria\n\nWe're looking for someone who has:\n2+ years of experience in software integration or development\n\nBS or MS in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or Electrical Engineering\n\nStrong understanding of electromechanical systems, including assembly, setup, and debugging\n\nStrong understanding of computer science fundamentals and software/firmware engineering, especially for real-time embedded control applications (C programming, FreeRTOS, microcontroller)\n\nStrong communication skills and comfort acting as the primary customer-facing engineer on-site\n\nExperience with system debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters\n\nAbility to work independently, own outcomes, and make sound technical decisions in the field\n\nWillingness to travel to customer sites, including internationally\n\nComfortable working in active industrial or field environments\n\nNice to have:\nBackground in autonomous vehicle development domains\n\nExperience working with CAN (J1939), ethernet, and other automotive communication protocols Experience in full life cycle of embedded application development (C/C++)\n\nExperience with harness and circuit design (e.g., schematic drawing, board layout) as well as manufacturing\n\nExperience with CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA) and rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing)\n\nFamiliarity with Linux development and bash scripting\n\nFoundational knowledge of automotive systems, including schematic reading, power and communication network topology, powertrain behavior, and system architecture\n\nMSHA certified to operate on mine sites\n\nDon’t meet every single requirement?
