A successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong technical leadership to deliver innovative algorithm solutions that directly impact customer success and business growth.\nKey Responsibilities\nLeadership\nLead the development of advanced inspection and metrology algorithms for semiconductor wafer and advanced packaging applications.\nEvaluate and incorporate emerging technologies in computer vision, image processing, machine learning, deep learning, and high-performance computing.\nDefine algorithm architecture, technical strategy, and development roadmaps aligned with product objectives.\nGuide performance optimization for high-throughput production systems, including CPU, GPU, and parallel computing implementations.\nEstablish robust methodologies for algorithm quality, benchmarking, validation, characterization, and performance monitoring.\nBuild, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing algorithm engineering team.\nDrive hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and career development while fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.\nProduct Development\nCollaborate with product management and applications engineering to translate requirements into differentiated product capabilities.\nDrive feature definition, prioritization, and execution plan across multiple product releases.\nLead the investigation and resolution of critical customer escalations and field issues.\nPartner with software, HPC, and systems engineering teams across India and United States to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions.\nDrive end-to-end ownership of algorithm development, from concept and prototyping through integration, optimization, qualification, and product release.\nCollaborate with global teams to leverage common infrastructure, shared technology platforms, and best practices.\nMinimum Qualifications\nMS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline.\n10+ years of experience algorithm development on large-scale hardware-centric system.\n3+ years of technical leadership experience.\nStrong programming skills in C++ and Python.\nExperience with algorithm development for large-scale hardware-centric systems.\nProven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in semiconductor inspection, metrology, or related semiconductor equipment industries.\nHands-on expertise in computer vision, ML/DL algorithms, and imaging systems\nExperience with GPU programming and high-performance computing.\nStrong technical communication skills.\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nYes, 10% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:\nYesApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
