Learn more about our benefits.\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Application Engineer to support advanced materials characterization and failure analysis activities across semiconductor and high-technology applications. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, application development, customer support, and problem-solving for a portfolio of characterization tools including SEM, FIB, ICP/MS, X-ray/CT, and related analytical techniques.\nThis role will be instrumental in expanding technical capability, supporting customer escalations, driving application innovation, and enabling adoption of next-generation characterization technologies.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership\nServe as a subject matter expert for materials characterization and failure analysis techniques.\nSupport development and optimization of analytical methodologies.\nLead complex troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for customer and internal projects.\nDevelop best practices, operating procedures, and application notes.\nApplication Development\nDevelop characterization workflows for semiconductor devices, packaging, interconnects, and advanced materials.\nEvaluate new technologies and emerging applications.\nWork closely with R&D, product engineering, process engineering, and manufacturing teams.\nCustomer Support\nProvide expert-level support for customer demonstrations, evaluations, and escalations.\nDeliver technical presentations and training programs.\nParticipate in customer visits and strategic technical discussions.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with engineering, marketing, and product management teams.\nSupport new tool adoption and technology roadmaps.\nMentor junior application engineers and assist with technical skill development.\nPreferred Technical Expertise\nRequired\nStrong hands-on experience with: Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)Materials Characterization Failure Analysis Image Analysis and Metrology Tool troubleshooting capability\nHighly Preferred\nSEM/EDX\nFocused Ion Beam (FIB)\nCT-Xray\nICP-MS\nNice to Have\nSurface analysis techniques\nOptical microscopy\nStatistical data analysis\nProgramming/scripting for data automation\nQualifications\nMS or PhD in: Materials Science Physics Chemistry Electrical Engineering Related technical discipline\nOR\nBS degree with significant industry experience.\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nYes, 20% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:\nYesThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
