Learn more about our benefits.\nProject Overview\nThis internship provides hands-on exposure to semiconductor manufacturing and the critical role of Critical Dimension Scanning Electron Microscope (CDSEM) metrology in process control. The intern will gain an understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, CDSEM technology, recipe creation, statistical process monitoring, customer interactions, and tool-to-tool matching methodologies used in high-volume manufacturing.\nProject Objectives\nUnderstand semiconductor wafer fabrication process flow and the role of metrology in process control.\nLearn the fundamentals of SEM technology and CDSEM operation.\nGain practical experience in CDSEM recipe setup and optimization.\nUnderstand how CDSEM measurement data supports process monitoring, excursion detection, and yield improvement through SPC methodologies.\nDevelop interpersonal and communication skills through interactions with customers, applications engineers, and factory personnel.\nContribute to improving tool-to-tool matching methodologies to enhance measurement consistency across multiple CDSEM platforms.\nDesired Skills Required:\nDesired Skills & Qualifications\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, or a related technical discipline.\nStrong interest in semiconductor manufacturing, metrology, and process control.\nBasic understanding of data analysis and statistics; familiarity with SPC concepts is an advantage.\nAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to interpret technical data and identify trends or anomalies.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and customers.\nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of data analysis tools such as Python, JMP, or Minitab is a plus.\nBasic understanding of microscopy, imaging systems, or semiconductor process technology is advantageous but not required.\nAbility to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nIntern / StudentTravel:\nNoRelocation Eligible:\nNoApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
