Learn more about our benefits.\nAs a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.Job Description\nLTA Location: Bresden, Germany / Start from December, 2027\nKey Responsibilities\nEnsure compliance with safety and PIP, environmental protocols, and PIP\n\nTSMC F24 installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and upgrades of cutting-edge semiconductor equipment independently\n\nTroubleshoot hardware issues, order and replace parts, and resolve FDC mismatches\n\nFollow documented procedures and task plans to test and diagnose equipment\n\nParticipate in daily passdown meetings and follow task priorities and assignments\n\nAnswer lead, FSO and customer phone calls and participate customer and internal meetings upon need.\n\nFollow TSMC 6S to maintain clean, organized workspaces\n\nClean Desk Daily to open and manage service cases and escalations based on CE KPIs\n\nSupport parts management, including ordering, tracking, and coordination with technicians\n\nCollaborate closely with Germany CE teams and local PSE teams\n\nProvide coaching and support to junior engineers and international colleagues\n\nRepresent Applied Materials professionally with a customer-first mindset\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (hardware-related preferred)\n\nAbility to read electrical and mechanical schematics\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\n\nBasic mechanical aptitude in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics\n\nFamiliarity with hand tools and digital multimeters\n\nTOEIC score of 550+\n\n2 yr+ TSMC fab experience is preferred\n\nWork Environment & Expectations\nFlexible work schedule, including weekends and shift work (not exceeding 60 hours/week or 12 hours/day)\n\nAbility to lift 10-20 kg and work in cleanroom environments with full protective gear\n\nPhysical capability to sit, kneel, crouch, twist, stretch, and stand for extended periods\n\nParticipate in FSO on-call/on-duty rotations and support deinstall activities\n\nMaintain mutual respect, trust, and teamwork across global CE teams\n\nEscalate issues when junior engineers fail to report or when coaching is needed\n\nAlways strive to improve team skills and mindset-think forward and act proactively\n\nTeam Culture\nWe believe in “Team In and Team Out”-a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
