Learn more about our benefits.\nAs a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.Key Responsibilities\nCollaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers [Customer Engineers] in installing, maintaining, and upgrading customer equipment\n\nUse digital analytics for troubleshooting\n\nApply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and address technical issues, with guidance from Senior Field Service Engineers [Customer Engineers]\n\nPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided)\n\nCoordinate and communicate directly with customers\n\nParticipate in projects/assignments in meeting organization goals\n\nFulfill additional duties, as assigned\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nCompletion of an Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification\n\n2 - 5 years of work experience in customer/field service support, or a related technical field\n\nAbility to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics\n\nExperience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges\n\nBasic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics\n\nFamiliarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimeters\n\nEffective written and verbal communication skills\n\nBasic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint\n\nPossession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport, if travel is required.\n\nAble to meet all on-site requirements, including safety, environmental guidelines, and customer/Applied protocols\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n2-5 years of work experience in customer/field service support, or a related technical field\n\nAssociate degree in electronics or engineering technologies\n\nKnowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics\n\nFamiliarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimeters\n\nThis role would first begin within AGS iTeam (Installation Team) to learn about installation skillsets & troubleshooting and to be transferred to AGS Service Team (FSO) in the later stage (2-3years later). 75% of travel (Within APAC region) is expected in this job.\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nYes, 75% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:\nYesApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
