Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. We work in a fast-paced environment.\nThe role\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with expertise in real-time Image processing algorithms for our Image processing SW and Algo team.\nYou will join a strong team of software and algo engineers and own the architecture, design, and implementation of real-time image processing algorithms running on a distributed system.\nYou will work in the intersection between the application software development and the algorithms.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nStay deeply hands-on while owning project-level design for complex, stateful algorithmic workflows.\nDesign, optimize and implement image processing algorithms and workflows.\nWork closely with algorithm engineers to improve algorithms and adapt them to real-time operating.\nRun performance analysis and benchmarks, use profiling tools to profile algorithm operation across computers and devices.\nApply data science methods to real measurement data: design experiments, analyze results, quantify system performance with sound metrics.\nCollaborate closely with Application Software developers and with System / Hardware teams to design and implement SW workflows and APIs.\nWhat you should have:\n8+ years - Strong experience in Python and C++\nNumerical algorithms and optimization, image processing fundamentals, and familiarity with hardware control or instrumentation software.\nKnowledge and experience in CPU low-level optimization.\nKnowledge and experience in GPU data flow optimization and CUDA.\nHands-on experience in developing both algorithms and supporting frameworks.\nKnowledge and hands-on experience working with performance profiling tools.\nSolid engineering practices: e2e, regression, and automated testing, code review, CI/CD.\nProduct mindset - you understand customer needs and business impact.\nB.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.\nNice to have:\nM.Sc. in CS, Software Engineering, EE, or a related field.\nProven track record of excellence - academic, military, or professional honors, awards, or recognition for outstanding achievements.\nElectron microscopy or semiconductor equipment.\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nNot SpecifiedRelocation Eligible:\nNoApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
