Learn more about our benefits.\nJob Description\nApplied Materials is seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to support business-critical Semiconductor Lab IT Operations systems, applications, and digital solutions used across global engineering, research, development, and manufacturing labs. This role will partner with business stakeholders, lab users, engineering teams, and IT organizations to support application enhancements, operational processes, user onboarding, equipment connectivity, mobility solutions, and security initiatives.\nThe successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and effectiveness of lab IT services that enable engineers, researchers, and technicians to perform their work efficiently. This position requires strong functional analysis, stakeholder management, and operational support skills while driving continuous improvement across global semiconductor lab environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nLab Applications & Digital Solutions\nSupport business-critical applications and digital solutions used across Semiconductor Lab Operations.\nGather, analyze, and document business requirements from lab and engineering stakeholders.\nTranslate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and process documentation.\nPartner with development teams, system administrators, and vendors to implement system enhancements.\nCoordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), deployments, and post-implementation support activities.\nSupport incident management, problem resolution, and service request fulfillment.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives that improve operational efficiency, user experience, and system reliability.\nLab IT Operations Support\nSupport day-to-day operations of lab IT systems, applications, and business processes.\nCoordinate onboarding of new labs, users, applications, and operational workflows.\nSupport asset tracking, operational workflows, resource scheduling, and other lab operational solutions.\nWork closely with lab personnel, engineers, and support teams to identify and resolve operational issues.\nAnalyze support trends and recommend improvements to enhance service quality and operational performance.\nAssist in developing and maintaining operational procedures, knowledge articles, and support documentation.\nMobility & Endpoint Solutions\nProvide functional support for tablet, mobile device, barcode scanning, and mobility solutions used within Semiconductor Labs.\nCoordinate onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle management activities for lab mobile devices and peripherals.\nSupport printer, scanner, barcode reader, and other connected device deployments.\nPartner with infrastructure and endpoint teams to ensure devices are compliant, secure, and operational.\nSupport implementation and adoption of new technologies that improve lab productivity and efficiency.\nEquipment Connectivity & Integration Support\nSupport IT systems and workflows that enable connectivity between lab equipment and enterprise applications.\nCoordinate onboarding of new equipment, devices, and associated digital workflows.\nAssist with troubleshooting equipment connectivity and data flow issues.\nWork with engineering, infrastructure, and application teams to facilitate issue resolution.\nSupport testing and validation of system integrations and automation-related enhancements.\nMaintain documentation of interfaces, integrations, and operational support procedures.\nLab Security & Access Management\nSupport lab application security processes, user provisioning, and role-based access controls.\nCoordinate user access requests, periodic access reviews, and account management activities.\nPartner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure compliance with corporate security policies.\nAssist with audit readiness, compliance reviews, and security documentation activities.\nSupport implementation of security controls across applications, mobile devices, and connected lab systems.\nCoordinate remediation activities associated with security findings, vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements.\nPromote security awareness and best practices across the lab community.\nStakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership\nServe as a liaison between lab users, business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams.\nFacilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and process reviews.\nCommunicate system changes, enhancement roadmaps, and operational updates to stakeholders.\nDevelop training materials, user guides, and knowledge management content.\nSupport change management activities and end-user adoption initiatives.\nGlobal Operational Support\nSupport users across multiple regions, sites, and time zones.\nParticipate in operational reviews, incident triage, and escalation management processes.\nMonitor application and service performance trends and recommend corrective actions.\nSupport critical business operations and planned maintenance activities.\nCollaborate with global support teams to ensure consistent service delivery and operational excellence.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.\n5+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, Application Analyst, or IT Operations Analyst.\nExperience supporting enterprise applications and operational systems.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements.\nExcellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.\nExperience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.\nAbility to balance operational support responsibilities with project and enhancement initiatives.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting Semiconductor Labs, engineering labs, R&D environments, or manufacturing operations.\nExperience supporting laboratory applications, workflow management systems, or operational platforms.\nKnowledge of ServiceNow, Jira, Agile methodologies, and ITIL-based support processes.\nExperience with user access management, security controls, and compliance processes.\nFamiliarity with mobile devices, barcode technologies, printers, scanners, and peripheral device support.\nExperience supporting equipment connectivity, system integrations, and data collection solutions.\nKnowledge of cloud-based application platforms, enterprise integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.\nExperience supporting global business
